Wolfe (Three Bears Tactical Book 4) by Jacki James

WOLFE is the main voice behind Three Bears Tactical and its his turn to find his perfect boy. This is a boss and his assistant age gap daddy boy romance.

From the blurb:

For years, everyone at Three Bears Tactical has joked that Caden belongs to Wolfe. They're wrong. Caden is Wolfe's assistant. That's all.

The fact that he knows Wolfe's food order, anticipates his needs before he asks, and somehow keeps the entire company running is completely irrelevant.

At least that's what Wolfe keeps telling himself.

Until someone starts watching Caden.

What begins as a few unsettling encounters quickly escalates into something far more dangerous. Suddenly, the quiet, dependable man Wolfe has trusted for years is at the center of a growing threat, and Wolfe finds himself doing the one thing he never does.

Taking the case personally. Protecting Caden should be simple. Keeping his distance should be easy. Unfortunately, Wolfe has never been particularly good at walking away from things that matter to him.

And Caden matters far more than he should.

Molly Otto's review:

Wolfe has run Three Bears Tactical with his ever present assistant Caden for the past few years, yet always denied himself from wanting more with the beautiful boy. Caden has had a thing for Wolfe forever yet it never seemed in the cards for them to be together. When someone starts watching Caden too closely its TBT time to step in to protect him along with his ever feisty grandma Ruby. These two make take a minute to work things out, looking at you Wolfe, but when they go in they go all in. It was great to see the leader fall so hard and fast and show him what it's like to be cared for instead of being the one doing all the caring. These two just balance one another beautifully, another great addition to the Vesper universe from Jacki.

SNik's review:

Fourth in series (Three Bears Tactical), but can be read as a standalone. Boss/employee. Daddy/boy. Found family. Slow burn. Dual POV.

The attraction may be mutual, but Wolfe refuses to pursue his assistant Caden as he’s worried how it will affect their security business. But, when someone is stalking Caden, Wolfe can't help but realize how important keeping Caden safe and close is to him.

The main thing I really enjoyed about this story is that Caden and Wolfe have worked together for years and have a comfortable relationship knowing each other on a personal level as well as professionally before they make the leap into a romantic relationship. Both Caden and Wolfe are likable characters, Caden is a caretaker in all aspects of his life, but Wolfe is happy to care for Caden and those he cares about just as equally. I do wish we got to see more of their Daddy/boy relationship on page, but overall I thought this was an entertaining and fun story to read.

Heather's review:

Wolfe fights hard against his attraction to Caden, denying both of them until he just can't resist anymore - the angst and pining is real!   I love how sweet & comfortable their relationship is before they become intimate and how wonderful it is when they finally come together.  As with most of the relationships in this series, you have a protective daddy whose need to protect and care for his partner is heightened by someone threatening his love interest...

This book alludes to a Daddy/boy relationship but doesn't explore what that means on page.  I did miss that aspect a little bit, but the story had other elements including a fabulous grandmother and cameos from the other members of Three Bears.
