Being the new copper on Dauntless Island is nothing Dominic planned on it being but thats okay he needed a fresh start. Natty back from boarding school still is being treated like a little kid cause thats how its always been. When Natty starts doing side jobs around the island including for the new copper he can't help but be drawn to the intriguing older man. Having been burned for being a secret in his past, Dominic doesn't want to do it again yet cannot help but be drawn to this openly spirited young man. Dauntless being Dauntless doesn't make it easy for them but they find their way to acceptance slowly but surely.
A great cast of uniquely their own characters even when most have one of seems like five names. Eddie & Red Joe help Dominic get used to island life even when Eddie is still trying himself. A great blend of humor and mystery to keep you intrigued from start to finish.
