A serial killer meets a boy in need and gets pulled into searching for his missing brother. Dominic immediately recognizes there is nothing he wouldn't do to help Jamie, and if he can rescue Jamie's brother while killing some bad guys along the way, maybe Jamie will give them a chance at something more.
From the blurb:
I’ve been killing since I was fifteen, and I’ve never looked back.
First, it was to protect my foster brothers.
Later, it was to rid the world of the scum that managed to avoid justice.
The rest of my world was a mundane grey scale of nothingness as I tried to blend in. I only felt alive with the feel of my victim’s pulse slowing under my hand.
Then I met Jamie.
Everything about him called to me.
The terror and determination behind his sage green eyes. The snarky attitude that he used to hide the brokenness inside him.
He wasn’t meant for the darkness of this world. But he wouldn’t back down, fighting through his fear, fighting for his brother with everything he had.
I knew I should walk away. Entangling myself with Jamie would only bring attention to me and my brothers, which we didn’t need.
It was too late for that. The consequences meant nothing to me if it meant keeping Jamie by my side and safe.

SNik's review:
Part of a multi-author series (Bloody Desires), but can be read as a standalone. Daddy/boy. Slow burn. Dual POV. Heed content warnings.
Dominic is looking forward to the murder he has planned for the night, but a desperate boy adds an additional problem that Dominic feels compelled to help with. Jamie knows he shouldn’t trust a killer like Dominic, but he will do anything to find his younger brother, and there’s something about Dominic that allows little pieces of trust and Jamie knows he needs the help.
This story was a whirlwind of violence and insta-possessiveness where Dominic will do everything he can to keep Jamie close but knows that there is tons of trauma for them both to overcome before anything healthy can be built. I enjoyed how Dominic wants to become someone important to Jamie, but they both recognize they have to rescue Jamie’s brother before anything serious happens. There are moments of mistaken motives, miscommunication, and a bunch of hurt/comfort sprinkled throughout, It absolutely made sense for Jamie and Dominic to take a step back and work on themselves individually and finally get their HEA.
