Just Like You (Square Mile Rogues Book 2) by Sophia Soames

JUST LIKE YOU, a uniquely quirky long distance romance. Julian and Kieron find a love that is unexpected and messy and just brings so much joy.

From the blurb:

Jules Bradley catches flights, never feelings. Working as an in-charge flight attendant makes that part remarkably easy since he can put thousands of miles between himself and anyone else, at the drop of a hat. Until he meets someone he simply can’t shake, however much he wants to.

Kieron Andrieu has a high-flying senior finance job with weekly business trips around the world, a great boss and a comfortable flat. His life couldn’t be much more perfect. Until he messes everything up. Because once you catch feelings? Life will never be the same again.

London's Square Mile is commonly known as "The City" and encompasses the historical core of the city while serving as a thriving centre for finance, governance and professional services. It is also home to Delaware Financial, the one stop shop for all your corporate needs.

Here you will meet the men in finance, stone faced rogues with nothing to lose and find out that putting your heart on the line? Can be the most rewarding investment of all.

Square Mile Rogues are a series of standalone M/M romances with HEA's.

Molly Otto's review:

When reading this story, you can tell that the author experienced this lifestyle and truly understood what it takes to handle all that entailed. This is a quirkily beautiful romance of two men who don’t really understand how to be in a relationship learn together how to make it work. Both Julian and Kieron have jobs that make being home whenever their partner wants or needs difficult at best, yet together they find a way to make it work for them. They do not have an atypical romance, but it is real and them. With a close-knit group of friends that support and let them know what they are doing wrong they learn how to find that right balance in both their work and love lives. What made this one so great is so different from Sophia’s generally angsty writing, yet you still feel their voice in the writing. It was a fun change of pace to see another style of writing that may be different yet still just as beautiful.

SNik's review:

Second in series (Square Mile Rogues), can be read as a standalone but might be more fun if read in order. Age gap. Adversarial to lovers. Hurt/comfort. Mature characters. Dual POV.

Kieron is a frequent flier finance executive that gets put in his place by the in-charge flight attendant on his latest trip, but their interactions seem to spark something between them. Neither man believes in relationships or anything long term, but why does being together make sense?

What an unexpected romance, where attraction and deep feelings of happiness and joy hit two men over the head and they fall hard and fast. This story just proves that love is inexplicable sometimes, when it happens and it's meaningful it can be irresistible. Yes, Kieron can be a big jerk, but he tries so hard with Julian and the people that can see past Kieron’s brashness seem to be those that become lifelong friends. And Julian is so wonderful, allowing himself to be swept along into Kieron’s impulsive wooing. I really liked both of these characters. Soames is able to write relatable, realistic characters that pull your heartstrings and make the reader realize that love is sometimes messy and worth the risk.
