Peep by Rianne Elizabeth

Anders might be considered a peeping Tom, but when the subject of his curiosity knows he's watching and enjoys it, is it really wrong? But Jahmar is hiding more than his exhibitionist side, and sharing with Anders may be a risk that gets them both into trouble even if they've fallen for each other.

From the Peep blurb:

Jahmar

He's a terrible hunter, silently stalking but too afraid to pounce. There’s nothing I’d like more than for him to sink his claws into me. But Anders is practically a lion cub. He's as cute as a button and a bit of a hot mess–my kryptonite. I know he’s watching, and sometimes I put on a show. As much as I’m enjoying this game of cat and mouse, I have secrets, and his greedy little eyes have seen too much.

Anders
I am not a stalker. Well, not a sinister one. I merely observe my surroundings and the individuals in them. Stalkers are vicious and cruel. They’re obsessed. I am not. I'd never hurt Jahmar; it's a line I wouldn't cross. But he knows I’m watching and lures me in like prey. Even knowing what he’s capable of, I can’t seem to look away.

SNik's review:

Standalone. POC representation. Dual POV. Heed content warnings.

In his job as an apartment building concierge Anders sees all kinds of things, and he has extra cameras hidden around to help with his peeping hobby, but spying on Jahmar, the charming and handsome doctor, may get him into more trouble than he ever expected. Jahmar is attracted to Anders, and immediately senses they may be able to have more in common than expected with the secrets they keep, but trusting his hopefully future husband is asking a lot.

The coincidence of two morally grey characters finding each other and accepting each other's dark deeds was far fetched yet entertaining. With Jahmar having a much more dangerous secret, his willingness to try and connect and trust Anders betrayed a sweetness underlying the tough life he was living. And Anders' slight obsession with Jahmar which slides into love allows him to accept the risk of being with Jahmar. Two characters that maybe were meant to lean into each other's needs while finding happiness and love in an unexpected way.
