Sleep is part of the London Love series by Sophia Soames and it will blow you away by its poetic prose and beautiful love. Both Jonathan and Mabel are struggling, work and personal lives are a constant battle, but their special connection makes falling for someone seem too easy. Can they both grab hold and not let go, even if it's an unexpected whirlwind, maybe your person comes along at just the right time. Two beautifully broken people coming together for one powerful love that will leave you breathless by the end.
From the SLEEP blurb:
Mabel Donovan has spent their entire life playing second best. Always the bridesmaid, never the bride. The ex. The one that got rejected… The one that was cheated…with.
But now it’s make or break, because Mabel has to do something. Maybe it’s time to break free and actually start to learn how to live. Although decisions aren’t actually Mabel’s forte, since they can’t even decide what gender they want to be when they get up in the morning.
Jonathan Templar may be one of the most eligible bachelors in London, with his cover of Time Magazine and millions in the bank. He should probably just let his society mother pick him someone from one of her magazines. Introduce him to some highly ambitious person from his parents’ social club.
It’s just…not quite what Jonny wants. Since he can’t even sleep in a bed like normal people. Struggles to get a decent meal inside of him. He just wants…peace. Solitude. Silence.
And love. Maybe he just needs someone to…
No. Nothing. He doesn’t need anything.
Mabel needs to finally be the one.
And Jonny? He’s not actually into…the tall, beautiful creature that…obviously has a giant piece of equipment hiding under that stunning tailored suit. It’s just a friendship. A relationship…of sorts…and love?
Jonny just needs a good night sleep. Period.
SLEEP is a standalone M/Mx romance novel, but could be more enjoyed after reading TASTE and SKIN and BONES.
SNik's review:
Fourth in series (London Love), but can be read as a standalone. Mature characters. Genderfluid MC representation. Hurt/comfort. Slow burn. Dual POV.
Jonathan is an introverted billionaire property tycoon that is lonely, can’t sleep, and is desperately attracted to the confident and social hotel maitre’d Mabel. Mabel’s life is falling apart and they can’t seem to catch a break in work or their personal life, until Jonathan keeps reaching out and there is an undeniable connection.
Imagine meeting someone that sees you, really sees you, and the honest communication and caring fills your soul - that is what Jonathan and Mabel experience together. This author’s emotional writing can do no wrong as I’m always drawn to her flawed characters, the personal growth, the subtle romance that is far beyond just physical attraction when two people find a special person that complements all their jagged edges and it just works. This is a must read series and author for me, and this book does not disappoint.
Molly Otto's review:
A truly beautiful slow burn of two men learning to breathe and cope with life completely different from what they're accustomed to. I have been in love with Mabel since we met them in Taste and have been hoping to see their side and get their truly deserved happily ever after. The way they are written is truly magical where you understand their struggles of not only being themself but also moving on from their current life, that let's be honest is not good for them in any way.

Enter Jonathan, a beautifully broken man coping with the fact changes must be made or he will not be long for this world. From the moment he sets eyes on Mabel, he knows this is his person, and it take Mabel to finally crack for him to step in and help them be free.
This is not exactly an easy read, but it is poetry. The way these men slowly open up and fall in love is magical and will change the way you see things. They love powerful and make the other better by encouraging them to stand up and be free. Words can not express how much I loved this story.
SLEEP is currently available as an e-book and paperback and can be read as part of your Kindle Unlimited Subscription
