A reluctant omega thief experiences his first heat with the pro omega rights Alpha he planned to steal from. Spicy with instant feels when a few days turns into wanting forever.
"...I have the real thing at last, and it's better than I ever imagined. You might even call it a fairy tale."
From the Chosen by the Champion blurb:
There are no glass slippers, charming princes, or godmothers for this Cinderella.
Tristan. My father and brothers always make me do their dirty work—and by “dirty work,” I mean steal. Refusing them comes with a price: an arranged marriage to the most despicable alpha Father can find. When I go into heat before I’ve finished my latest job, I fear for the worst … until Mason Dawes—the handsome alpha whose painting I’m trying to pilfer—walks in and shows me another way.
Mason. They say I’m this generation’s greatest champion of omega rights, but behind my words is a broken heart. The beautiful omega on my doorstep awakes something in me, but he needs my help as much as I do his. And saving him comes with a price: sacrificing my ideals.
Chosen by the Champion is a non-shifter omegaverse MM Cinderella retelling with a twist. It features instalust, an ill-timed first heat, knotty times, and—of course—a happily ever after. Readers are advised to check the Author’s Note for content sensitivities.
SNik's review:
Part of a multi-author series (Once Upon A Time), but can be read as a standalone. Omegaverse. Fairytale retelling. Mpreg. Hurt/comfort. Quick read. Dual POV.
Tristan is a reluctant thief, suffering abuse from his family, he never expects to meet the senator that champions omega rights while trying to steal Mason’s family heirloom painting. Mason is drawn to Tristan, and he is very willing to help him through his first heat, but a couple days together makes Mason want to keep Tristan forever, and that is certainly unexpected.
This story quickly ramps up the steam when Tristan goes into heat, featuring a sweet, abused omega and a cinnamon roll Alpha, they do learn a lot about each other in a short amount of time. There is enough of a world build to get a sense of the omegaverse society, and there is backstory for each character, and I could have read more because both Mason and Tristan were likable characters. I enjoyed the high spice, quick feels, and sweet epilogue.
Denise's review:
This is a really good Twist on a Cinderella story. Instead of cleaning the house and taking care of sisters. We have the Dad and brothers who are con artists and thieves. Who use their younger brother/son to do the dirty work for them. We also have male pregnancy mentioned and babies but we do not have the pregnancy and the story. We also have a senator Alpha who is completely for Omega rights and against claiming and Omega against their will. But of course we do have that happen but only because the Omega asked for it to save him from a forced mating. This was the first book I read from this author and it was outstanding. I truly cannot wait to see where this series takes us. I love the retelling of fairy tales in this world.

MiKi.J.'s review:
This certainly had that Cinderfella vibe ...... you really do feel for Tristan, mistreated and forced to complete tasks by his family .....but I'll say this - he's no meek omega....there's some strength in him. And Mason - he's really a very caring Alpha. This one is very much an insta-connnection which leads into alot of spicy situations. Hot stuff indeed !! I enjoyed the story - it's well written and well paced with good world building and characters. It's not angsty in any way .... just a good book to enjoy.
I love the classic fairy-tales and I love them even more when an author can take one of the classic tales and turn it into something that's completely unique and their own. That's what A.L. Morrow did with this story, she took a classic fairytale, Cinderella, and turned it into something completely different. And she did so wonderfully!
As soon as I began reading I was immediately drawn into Tristan and Mason's world. One man is trapped by his horrible family and forced to steal from people, and the other man is the Senator Arden, who's fighting for Omega rights. These two men are from different worlds but for together seamlessly. Will their backgrounds tear them apart? Or will their bond survive?
I enjoyed this story a lot, I completely devoured this book. I read it on one sitting, it's that good. I'm a sucker for a good Alpha/Omega representation and this one was exactly that! I feel like a lot of people portray all alphas as super macho, violent, aggressive, and pigheaded, and while there were some characters in this story who were very much those things, I'm glad that Mason's character wasn't any of those things. He was kind, well-spoken, caring, thoughtful, respectful, and protective. I liked that his character was different from other Alphas and that he stayed true to himself and his beliefs.
Tristan's story is heartbreaking. After losing his father at a young age, he has to do his father and his brothers dirty work for them. They find the people who has upscale paintings, and he has to go in and steal them. And if he gets caught? Well he just has to use his body to get out of it. I don't think I have ever been happy that a character has gone into heat whilst being in a public setting before. Which is a weird thing to say but it's true! If he didn't go into heat during Mason's party, he probably would've never interacted with the man otherwise, and that would truly be a travesty.
While the lust was instant, they slowly got to know more about each other the more time they spent together, which I enjoyed. I could've done with less steam, but that's just a personal preference. I despised Tristan's family, they are cruel, and coldhearted, I can't believe they would treat him like that! And then to try to sell him off as if he's an object? Horrendous! Let's just say I'm glad justice was served by the end of the story.
The ending was so cute!! It was my favorite part of the whole story!! Mason and Tristan standing up for each other and themselves was such a profound moment and I loved every part of it! Overall a terrific story!!
