Raven: Part Two (Forbidden Desires Spin-Off Story) by Piper Scott & Virginia Kelly; Narrated by Michael Ferraiuolo

Raven: Part Two gives us an epic series finale for a cast of characters that we have all come to love!

From the blurb:

Bertram Drake, international man of mystery, leads a double life. By day he is the council’s most valuable pawn, but by night he is a traitor, aiding and abetting the dangerous leader of the organization looking to undermine dragon society—a man who goes by the name of Raven, and who is none other than the father of Bertram’s children and his beloved mate.

Kept from his family by his dangerous wild magic, Sorin is a man on a mission. As Raven—the leader of the Vanguard—his life’s purpose is to save and rehabilitate the omegas being mistreated by their cloisters, but when an unexpected discovery puts all Pedigree omegas in mortal peril, his goals shift. He must do whatever it takes to ensure no omega ends up suffering like him.

Even if it means playing the part of the villain and severing ties with his mate.

Raven: Part Two is the 92,000 word conclusion to the Forbidden Desires series. It contains eye-opening revelations, new outfits for little lizards, extremely scientific field studies, and a love that manages to conquer all. For maximum enjoyment, Raven: Part Two is best listen following the events of Clutch, Bond, Mate, Swallow, Magpie, Finch, Peregrine, and Raven: Part One.

Lesetiger's review:

I read the first volumes and then listened to Raven Part One and Part Two as audiobooks. After Raven Part One, I was very curious to see if there would be a happy ending for Sorin and Betram.

First of all, the writing style is great as always. After just a short time, I was completely immersed in the story. The authors have given us a wonderful magical world in which ordinary people can transform themselves.

Sorin has to fight his own magic, because that is the reason why he has kept away from his family for centuries. He is afraid of hurting someone. He also fights for justice and for a better life for the Omegas. But unforeseen things also happen in the process, bringing powerful dragons onto the scene.

The characters are very well created and developed and continue to develop. My heart broke into a thousand pieces for Sorin, but Betram also led a life that was completely different from that of his brothers and he was more or less the outsider of the family.

But will Sorin and Betram manage to find a way to be together despite all the adversity?

The story is very entertaining, exciting, tragic, but also heartbreaking and heartwarming. There are many themes, including serious ones such as the fight for social justice, war, retribution, forgiveness and the changing times.

I was captivated by Raven Part Two from the very beginning and was almost a little sad when the story ended. But I was also infinitely happy for Bertram and Sorin! A fascinating final volume in an epic fantasy series.

The only regret I have is the fact that I didn't start listening to the audiobook until Raven. I really need to start the audiobooks from the beginning because they are exceptionally well narrated and make an already great story even better.

Michael Ferraiuolo has delivered an outstanding performance. You shouldn't miss out on this listening experience. He captured both the emotions and the accents of the protagonist perfectly. Chapeau, that was a pleasure for my ears! Highly recommend!
