PLAYING MOD is book 3 of Toby Wises Nanio Online series. This is an Alpha Alpha grumpy meets grumpy sweet as hell romance.
From the blurb:
AITA for wanting to know the man behind the username…
Kei doesn’t think love is for him. He’s more than content with his moderator being an abstract being who puts up with his grumpiness, banters with him, and isn’t afraid to put him in his place. The only problem? ‘Sookie’ changes the balance of their relationship with one care package and now Kei finds himself wanting more.
Shiloh isn’t interested in love. Been there, done that, and it did not agree with him. So why is he so fascinated the more he gets to know Kei? The only way to move on is to get Kei out of his system once and for all. Too bad that one time was all Shiloh needed to fall.
Two alphas who don’t think love is for them find out just how wrong they are. Their walls come down, feelings happen, and they realize no one gets to define what love means to them except for them.
Playing Mod is book three in the Nanio Online series. This alpha/alpha romance features two self-proclaimed @ssholes finding love. Inside you’ll find lots of witty banter, a stream moderator falling for his streamer, an alpha with hyperosmia, bullying as a form of foreplay, marking kink, bitey alphas, healing from past abusive relationships, found family, realizing relationships can be fun, and of course, a Toby Approved happily ever after!
Molly Otto's review:
Toby does what Toby does best, he brings us a truly beautiful HEA in a way that works for that particular couple. Shiloh (sookie) has been a mod for Kei (suga) years now but technically have never met in person. When they win an online date during the fundraiser they start to let their truths show. It was so dang fun seeing an Alpha Alpha pairing with so much dang bickering! Their banter was some of if not the best i have read from Toby as well as other authors. It was fun they had sex to get the other out of their system to realize one time is not enough. The banter and gameplay of this beautifully chaotic family as with previous installments draws you and holds you captive from the very fist page to the perfect for the couple HEA. Now just crossing all my fingers and toes we get more from this universe, I honestly cannot get enough!
Angel's review:
Playing Mod is book three in Toby's exciting new series that's based on video game loving streamers finding their mates in unexpected ways, and this is Kei's book! If you've read the previous books then you know Kei is a bit of a grump, BUT while he is grumpy he cares deeply for those he cares about and those who become his family, his pack. I liked being able to get to see a different side to his character and I liked seeing him nervous around Shiloh, I thought that was so cute.
Their first date, (what started it all), was absolutely adorable! I loved all the banter and dialogue throughout the book and something that I'm really enjoying with this series is how Toby incorporates them being streamers fully into the story. What I mean by that is, we get information on Kei starting his streams, him reading/interacting with his chats, him picking out games to play, all of that, and that's something that has been in each of these books and I really like that aspect of this series quite a lot.
Shiloh and Kei are more of a grumpy/grumpy pairing, but that being said, they absolutely belong together. They get each other and are on the same wavelength and I enjoyed being able to see these two men get to know each other better and eventually open up to one another. All in all, another great book in this very intriguing series!
