My Kind of Sin (Valleywood Season Four) by Trisha Linde

MY KIND OF SIN is part of Vallywood Season 4, a multi author paranormal universe.

From the blurb:

Get on your knees and beg for forgiveness.

Over 250 years ago, Ulysses was born a sin-eater. Some would say it is a distinguished role, one chosen by the gods, to help humans unburden their souls and cross into the underworld, though all it has brought Uly is a life filled with shame and discrimination. He’s tired, ready to spend the last of his years in a mortal retirement. That is until a burly Irish god corners him in an alley with the promise of a mystery to solve… and maybe something more.

Ruadan hasn’t always been an immortal god, but with his rebirth, he was gifted the ability to shapeshift, with the expectation that he would use this ability to spy for the gods. Spying for gods, however, doesn’t pay the bills, which is how he finds himself working as a PI in Valleywood. When he allies himself with the prime suspect in a crime spree, an irresistibly untrusting sin-eater, he finds the lines between suspect and fated mate blurring faster than he can resist.

My Kind of Sin is a part of the popular multi-author series Valleywood, about a bustling city struggling with its hold on magic. It’s a slow-burn mpreg romance featuring a vulnerable omega, struggling to find acceptance in a world that sees him as other, an alpha god whose purpose in life is suddenly called into question, a villain whose chaos will finally be checked, and a satisfying HEA, complete with adorable baby.

Molly Otto's review:

Welcome to Vallywood where being a supe is part of the norm, where anything and everything is possible. Rue is on the hunt for what or whoever is causing people to do extraordinary feats while not remembering what they did after. Uly, a sin eater, spots Rue on his quest and starts following him to 'help' and hopefully stop what is going on. These two don't exactly start on common footing, but in time they do learn to work together, and eventually realize they are right for one another. I enjoyed seeing that no matter how Rue appeared to be on the outside, Uly always knew it was him. There was not a question, he understood his soul. Yes, they fought like cats and dogs, but it worked for them. The plot twist was a fun story to see unweave; a lesser author couldn't have pulled it off as Trisha managed. It was well paced and thoroughly done for an overall enjoyable experience.
