Sexbot: Part 2 of Volt and Wallace's Duology (The SPARK Files Book 4) by Reese Morrison

A return to the wonderful SPARK Files universe, with a special Daddy Spark and the boy he can't live without. Both Wallace and Volt have their insecurities, but as they grow together in their relationship and the help of friends they love hard and are rewarded with their special person.

From the blurb:

Wallace
can’t believe that he has a boyfriend. A real, live, sentient android Daddy who treats him like, well, a princess.

But what if he isn’t enough? He’s uncomfortable in his own body, he’s too scared of his father to quit his miserable job, and he’s agonizing about choices that only he can make.

He wants to do everything that he can to support his boyfriend, but it’s hard when Volt keeps hiding things from him.

Volt is the best thing in Wallace’s life. But is their relationship another fantasy, or can he find the courage to make it real?

Volt can’t believe he has a boyfriend. A sweet, adorable, and very wealthy submissive boy who wants to worship the ground he walks on.

But what if he isn’t enough? He’s a sexbot without any talents except the “skills” he was programmed for and debt up to his ears.

And just as he’s starting to open up and heal, a mysterious attacker puts him and everyone he loves in danger.

With danger lurking, will love be enough to see them through?

Sexbot is an M/X romance with an android Daddy who just wants to take care of his boy, a shy, genderqueer submissive trying hard to make the right choices, an unknown danger, lingerie, spankings, and an HEA.

Sexbot is the second of Wallace and Volt’s duology, started in The Spark Files: Book 3, Rich Kid. It relies heavily on the plot from the beginning of the series, and it is recommended that you read the entire series in order.

SNik's review:

Fourth in series (The SPARK Files), second in Volt and Wallace’s duology, must be read in order. Futuristic. Daddy/boy. Hurt/comfort. Found family. Dual POV. Series cliffhanger.

This book picks up right after Rich Boy and Wallace and Volt have decided to become official boyfriends. But Wallace is still struggling with accepting his more fem desires and being confident while Volt is unsure of his worth as a Daddy while stressing about his struggling business.

Returning to this series after the author’s hiatus was nice, although this book was incredibly long so be prepared. There are plenty of steamy scenes as Wallace and Volt further explore their dynamic while becoming bigger parts of each other's lives. The hesitation to communicate honestly about their inner struggles was reasonable yet there was a ton of introspection and is there such a thing as too many intimate scenes? Overall, I really enjoyed Wallace and Volt’s journey, the spicy times, and the found family aspect, so this series remains a top tier read for me and I can’t wait to read about Angel.
