Not going to lie this one took me a bit to get into, but dang am I happy I kept going because it is so worth it! Charlie takes a job out of desperation with the ExorSquad to prove he can hold a job, well that probably wasn't his smartest choice, and he's made plenty of not smart choices. He and Brad are sent to Grimthorne Manor to stop it from being inhabitable, where Charlie meets Bat, along with the others ghosts of the Manor. The ghosts are what makes this dang story so intriguing, then mix in a beautiful romance between Charlie & Bat. You feel their deepening connection as their story progresses and cannot help but wonder how this going to end with both being not only happy but together. TJ does brilliantly in bringing both these things together in the end, albeit tears will happen, but they are so worth it!

AHH! I wanna scream because of how adorable and amazing this story is. I knew from the moment TJ started teasing this book that I was going to enjoy it, but I wasn't expecting for it to consume me the way it did. I started this book, and finished it an hour later because I could not put it down. I just wanted to keep reading about Charlie and Bat's antics, and the mystery behind the haunting of the manor. Even now that I've finished the book, I still want more because I love the characters, and this story SO much!
If you have ever read TJ's books before then you know they gave a quirky, fun, and playful writing style while also including incredibly thought out and intricate details. Not only to describe the world around their characters, but to also describe the characters themselves, and TJ, I don't know how you continue to write hit, after hit, after hit, you are seriously so immensely talented! I always get excited to read your books and this has just made that excitement grow even more.
If you don't know, this is the first book in the brand new, multi-author series called ExorSquad, and after reading this book, I am SO hyped for the rest of this series! I really hope Charlie and Bat make cameos in some of the other stories because I just loved them so much.
I don't want to give too much away, but I will say I thought the writing was exceptional! It felt like I was in a paranormal ghost hunting show with romance mixed in, and I loved it! I thought the way Bat's history was written about and how it slowly revealed itself gradually overtime was really clever. I very much enjoyed reading this and I am very excited to read the rest of this series!
Who ever thought a ghost could be so mischievous while also being adorable??? I just adore Charlie and Bat, and you really need to read their book yourself, its so good!!

Charlie is desperate enough to get a job with a “ghost busting” company which he’s sure is just a con, until he gets assigned to visit Grimthorne Manor. Bat has been haunting for more years than he was alive, and protecting people from the thing in the basement is the priority, but he’s suddenly sidetracked by the arrival of Charlie.
This story with its fish out of water being Charlie learning ghosts are real and the mystery of the Grimthorne Manor hauntings was super entertaining. The fact that Bat falls for Charlie so quickly and that Charlie accepts that ghosts are real was really fun to read. Honestly, I sobbed through parts of this book, I was surprised how invested I got in Bat and Charlie and how it seemed that there was no way for them to be together long term. This is a long read, but didn’t feel that way, I really enjoyed every moment Bat and Charlie were on page together and their eventual HEA is what I live for in a romance.
