A short where being werewolf fated mates means overcoming anything that stands in the way.
From the blurb:
Charlie
My whole life, I’ve yearned to find my fated mate, only to discover he doesn’t want me. But I won’t take no for an answer without at least a decent explanation. Nigel owes me that much.
Nigel
Charlie is perfect, but I’m no good for him, not since the attack. He deserves another werewolf for a mate, not a broken, half werewolf, half vampire cursed with an uncontrollable thirst for blood. I’m too dangerous, and the last thing I want is to hurt my beloved.
Can Charlie and Nigel untangle the knots of their twisted fate to secure the destiny they both desire? Or were they doomed from the very start? A Twist of Fated Mates is a steamy standalone gay romance with no cliffhanger that includes hurt/comfort, instalove-turned-real-love, protective mates, and found family feels—a bite-sized quickie to read before bed.
SNik's review:
Standalone short. Paranormal. Fated mates. Hurt/comfort. Found family. Dual POV.
A werewolf but also a newly turned vampire, Nigel knows the scent he is following is his fated mate, but also is determined not to get close so he won’t hurt him. Charlie practically leaps into Nigel’s arms, having found his mate he refuses to let go no matter what.
This is a short story so there is not a lot of background or world build, but that’s okay as long as you’re prepared for a sweet story with plenty of heat for a pair of fated mates. I appreciated Nigel’s hesitancy in claiming Charlie as his mate, his fear of his vampire side was reasonable, and I really enjoyed Charlie’s absolute determination not to let go of Nigel. Spice, loyal family and a mated pair that can’t be separated.
