A talkative and cheerful human bonded to the serious crown prince, and neither can deny they are fated to be together. Can they both survive and help the rebellion with the deadly queen holding all the cards?
From the blurb:
Accidentally bonding with an alien prince who growls at anyone who gets too close to me? Not on my Terrafeara survival bingo card.
I was supposed to be snowboarding in Portugal. Instead, I got dragged through a dimensional rift, dropped into a monster-filled world, and nearly died before I even figured out which plants were trying to eat me.
Then I met Aelith.
Prince. Warrior. Walking political disaster.
He’s also six-foot-something of glowing-eyed devotion who apparently decided I’m his person after sharing enough life force to keep me breathing. Now he watches me like I hang the stars, growls at anyone who upsets me, and makes my pulse do deeply embarrassing things whenever he’s nearby.
The problem?
His mother is the Queen.
The rebellion wants her overthrown.
And the entire realm is one bad day away from falling apart.
As the bond between us grows stronger, secrets about the rifts begin to surface—secrets that could change everything we thought we knew about Terrafeara and the worlds beyond it.
Because if we fail, we won’t just lose each other.
We might lose every world connected to the rifts.
Aelith is the fourth book in the Monsters & Mates series, a monster-filled MM romantic fantasy featuring fated mates, hurt/comfort, found family, political intrigue, portal fantasy adventures, possessive devotion, and a love powerful enough to change worlds.
SNik's review:
Fourth in series (Monsters & Mates), must be read in order. Paranormal/sci-fi. Fated mates. Hurt/comfort. Found family. Slow burn. Mostly single POV/Some dual POV.
Dropped through a dimensional rift, almost dying, and then being in a coma while bonding to a prince was not how Dawson saw his life unfolding. Everything about being close to Aelith feels right, it doesn’t matter that they barely know each other or that they are in constant danger from his crazed mother, the Queen.
I’m a big fan of this series and this entry did not disappoint. None of these fated mate stories feels the same, they all really feel fated and their connections are so true and the personalities really complement each other. Dawson is just so irrepressibly cheery, I loved how he is able to inspire loyalty and friendships easily. Aelith’s sweetness and appreciation for Dawson’s flirty teasing was so fun to read, every moment they were on page together was swoony. This story does overlap Varek’s book a bit, but it added to the series overall and luckily we got to see Aelith and Dawson fall in love. Gosh, with Caly’s book coming I have no idea what to expect but I’m here for it.
