Two guys who grew up in non traditional homes are part of the Shadow Vipers. Since this is a macho group there doesn't seen anyway to act on the attraction both have.
From the blurb:
Blade
33, Blade thrower, member of the Shadow Vipers biker gang. Oh, and sexy as sin.
Being part of a biker gang means living a certain kind of lifestyle. Men need to be tough, rugged, and always on the prowl. For the most part, I live up to that expectation. Women constantly throw themselves at me. What can I say, I’ve got the attitude and the goods that women desire. My only weakness? A five-foot-ten, mouthy twink who also happens to be our leader’s younger brother. No matter how hard I try, I just can’t stay away. I watch him and follow him—yes, some may consider this behavior borderline “stalker,” but I like to think of it as making sure my friend is safe and protected. I know I have to ignore my feelings because if his brother ever found out… I’d be a dead man.
Ace
25, outspoken, bossy, and searching for love. Oh, and I’m the younger brother of Marcus… the leader of the Shadow Vipers.
My brother is a bully! No one will date me because they’re worried about what my brother might do if they ever break my heart. Yes, he’s my older brother and also the leader of the Shadow Vipers biker gang, but that doesn’t give him the right to scare off every potential guy I go out with. Argh, this is so frustrating. If only I could be with the man I really want, but unfortunately, he’s friends with my brother… and I don’t want him to die.
Content Warning: Violence, alcohol, past physical and emotional abuse, foul language, and, of course, loads of hot and steamy scenes.
Reed Kaye's review:
This is the second book in the Bikers of Mayhem series.
This is the second book in the Bikers of Mayhem series.
I’m trying to decide how to review this story. I’m not sure how I could get attracted to these main characters. They are not who I’d probably want to take home to the family yet they got me emotionally involved in the story.
Neither main character had close to a normal childhood. Yet surprisingly both became a part of a “family”.
Blade, having been raised as the son of a carnival member, learned a skill only useful to gangs. After he has an argument with his dad, he is left to live on the street. Luckily a situation brings him in contact with Marcus, Shadow Vipers crew leader. This gives him bff’s and a group where he belongs. No one knows he is gay and he tries to keep it that way believing that it wouldn’t fit the image of the gang members. He has been attracted to Ace but is afraid of losing his friendship with Marcus and being tossed out of the Shadow Vipers
Ace is Marcus’s younger step-brother. Their parents are not the upstanding pair you’d want. They leave the guys alone more often than not. Marcus assumes responsibility for Ace and becomes more a father figure than a brother. Ace is part of the Shadow Viper group and Marcus maintains watching over him so Ace is protected even when he doesn’t want it. Ace has had a crush on Blade for a long time and is dissuaded by Blade’s escapades. He does a lot of bragging about his one night activities and nothing leads Ace to think Blade would be attracted to him.
The path that leads them together is really entertaining and nerve racking. I enjoyed this story and can’t wait for the next story.
