Rowdy wants to have a relationship with Kess, but the man doesn't really know him at all. But lately Kess has been more inquisitive to the contradictions he sees in Rowdy, and he wants to pursue him and his truths more than ever.
From the Pure Country blurb:
I’d sooner cage a wild bird than try to pin that cowboy down. But God, I want to make him mine.
Our sizzling banter and filthy texts are the stuff of legends, but Rowdy is the king of one-night stands, and one night with him will never be enough.
I crave a future with him, which is exactly why I’ve kept him at arm’s length.
One drunken kiss, however, has me questioning everything I thought I knew about Rowdy Lockwood. Is he the lovable himbo everyone thinks he is, or is there more to him than meets the eye?
Whatever the truth is, I’ve decided that my sassy cowboy is a mystery worth solving.
Pure Country is an age gap, friends-to-lovers romance that features a secretive cowboy with a filthy imagination, a sweet city lawyer with a nose for deflection, and a pushy friend with a flare for the dramatic.
SNik's review:
Second in series (Central Texas), can be read as a standalone but might be better if read in order. Friends to lovers. Age gap. Slow burn. Dual POV.
The last two years have proved to Rowdy that he is halfway in love with Kess, but Kess doesn’t know everything about Rowdy only the fun dirty texts they share and the reputation that Rowdy has. Kess wants more than one night with Rowdy but that’s all the man seems to be built for, until there are little hints that maybe they both might want the same thing.
I really enjoyed the slow build up of this story and Kess and Rowdy’s relationship especially that it wasn’t all heat and no substance and that they had known each other as acquaintances/friends for a while. That Kess is insightful and so very careful after a few missteps made their coming together so much sweeter, and as always the author brings the heat once they have committed to a relationship. Both these characters were likable and caring, have a supportive group of friends and family, and have no hesitation once feelings are declared.

Heather's Review:
If I can sum up this book in one phrase... don't judge a book by it's cover - what you expect is not what you get... well... you get the character that adorable model is supposed to represent and well, his friend that he's crushing on, and well... so much more! Kelly Fox always writes books with depth, but this one peels back each layer to unearth an entirely different character then the one you think is on the cover and it's delicious! It's definitely a slow build but so worth it! You also get cameos and hints of future romances, lots of found family and supportive community and well... just go read it!
