Paris is the discarded son of a criminal, rescued from a horrible death by Mac, a raven shifter reaper of souls. When there is a bond between them that can't be broken, can they forge ahead together while trying to survive the danger coming their way?
From the Paris and the Reaper blurb:
I was given the name Paris at birth.
So far, I’ve lived up to it; or rather, down to it.
Too pretty, too unfocused, too easy a target.
My father even tried to sacrifice me.
And then I was saved by a beautiful, haunted man.
Mac is a reaper; he delivers lost souls.
But when he came for mine, I wouldn’t let go.
And now I can hear other souls too.
I can help him. Love him, if he’ll let me.
Assuming we survive a conspiracy to bring Chaos through the veil.
Mac says souls get what they deserve.
If I do enough good, then maybe I can be worthy of his.
Maybe I can hold on to him and our bond—forever.
Paris and the Reaper is a soft, swoony, and suspenseful M/M urban fantasy romance. It features a grumpy raven shifter afraid to love and lose again and the sweet, cursed human who makes him want to risk it all.
SNik's review:
Second in series (Soul to Find), must be read in order due to the overarching storyline and shared cast of characters. Paranormal urban fantasy. Fated mates. Slow burn. Single POV.
Almost being sacrificed is not Paris’s idea of a good time, this is just another attempt by his criminal father to kill him, until Paris is rescued by a violet eyed raven shifter. Mac’s supposed to ferry souls to their final resting place as a reaper, but when Paris grabs hold and doesn’t let go Mac not only wants to protect him but also keep him forever.
This story continues the supernatural battle happening around the characters while allowing Mac and Paris to build a relationship and find a way to be together. I wish there was more time spent with Mac and Paris as there is a lot going on around them, but their scenes with just the two of them were sweet and you can see their connection growing. An entertaining story with an interesting cast of characters and I am looking forward to the next in the series for sure.
