A swoony lead singer meets an admiring human fan and sparks fly. Hendrix appreciates everything about Arthur, from his being a parent to his supporting Hendrix's band, and Hendrix wants to be the one to show Arthur all the fun they can have together.
From the Loving a Demon blurb:
Arthur was a mess. A single dad, newly divorced, who realized a little late he wasn’t as straight as he thought. When he stumbles into a bar to wallow, he doesn't think he’d be falling in love with a band of paranormals. Much less going on a date with the lead singer.
Hendrix lived and breathed his music. So when he and his band had to start fresh in the human realm, he didn’t blink twice. He’d do what he had to in order to make it big. And when his first real human fan turns out to be his new muse, he’s determined to keep him.
But not everyone is happy for them. And there are some things in life that are more important than love. Right?
Tags: rock star demons, paranormal bands, because they’re sexy, that’s why, Arthur is their biggest fan, single dad, no timelines on sexual discovery, Arthur is shy, Hendrix likes to make him blush, lesbian wedding, kids are brutal, not all band members are created equal, all the experimenting, sexually explicit content, Hendrix has a new muse, friends don’t let other friends go to the sex club alone, kids are observant, so much fluff
SNik's review:
Fourth in series (Dallying with Demons), can be read as a standalone but might be more fun if read in order. Paranormal. Single dad. Found family. Dual POV.
Recently divorced accountant Arthur spends every weekend with his daughter, but when he can he watches a local band and might have a crush on the lead singer. Hendrix is happy to meet a fan of his band, since they have been working hard to become successful in the human realm, but there is something more to Arthur, and Hendrix is definitely attracted to the intelligent but shy man.
I really enjoyed the fact that Hendrix fully accepts Arthur’s daughter in his life, and that he is willing to go at Arthur’s pace when establishing a relationship. Both Arthur and Hendrix are likable characters with unique pasts that have formed their lives, but there were some pieces of the story that seemed to be left dangling. There was not much paranormal involved in the storyline, but Arthur and Hendrix did have supportive secondary characters and a hurdle to overcome in order to come together as mates.
Angel's review:
The way this book started off immediately drew me in and left me wanting more. As soon as I started reading I was completely invested in these characters and their lives. I was cheering on Hendrix's band as well as rooting for Arthur to break out of his shell.
I could relate a lot to Arthur's character, he was shy, awkward, and got embarrassed and overwhelmed easily. I can definitely relate to all of those things. When he first formerly met Hendrix he stumbled over his words frequently and wasn't quite sure what to say to the talented singer. While he still was shy and awkward at times, he gradually warmed up to Hendrix and his band mates and become more comfortable around them. I liked the way their relationship developed, they went out on dates and slowly got to know each other. Their relationship grew over time and gradually grew stronger the more the story progressed, which was great. I loved the slow burn, it was done so well!
Sophie's character was absolutely adorable, she's such a firecracker. The love for her dad shines through the pages, as well as Arthur's love for his daughter does. The scene where they danced together was so cute! Then for Hendrix to volunteer to dance with Sophie? Absolutely adorable!
There is some slight angst in this story that happens later on in the book, but it gets resolved quickly and in a believable way. I felt bad for poor Laz, he's smitten with Ruby but the women doesn't give him the time of day. And when she shows up with her girlfriend? My heart broke for him. I hope he gets his happy ever after eventually, I wouldn't mind getting his story at some point. All in all, a really terrific story!
