Glitched Fates & Stolen Mates (The Killigrew Street Case Files Book 3) by TJ Rose

GLITCHED FATES & STOLEN MATES is an accidental stalking fated mates romance. Kit's known Felix was his mate for two long years, but he can't seem to make any headway in flirting with the equally socially inept man. Until he gets caught stalking him of course.

From the blurb:

How to accidentally on purpose stalk and traumatise your soulmate:Hide behind wheelie bins like all proper predators do.
Stare through his window until he spots you.
Volunteer to teach him self-defence to protect him from his "stalker" (i.e., you).
Try not to spontaneously combust when you touch him during training.

Felix

Someone's been watching me for months.

As Killigrew Street's tech expert, I’ve hacked into enough systems to know we've made serious enemies—particularly since discovering Greywatch, a military unit exploiting supernatural soldiers. When I finally spot my stalker outside my flat, Kit—my brooding, cardigan-wearing older colleague—swoops in to investigate.

There's always been weird tension between us: strange looks, wordless tea deliveries. But when he offers self-defence lessons, I'm not complaining. Even if his proximity makes my hands shake for entirely different reasons.

My stalker better watch out, because Kit's teaching me exactly how to handle creeps like them.

Kit

I am the worst person alive.

Two years I've been pining for Felix—my brilliant, beautiful mate who doesn't even know what he is to me. Two years of watching him from afar, following him home, lurking outside his flat like some kind of sick freak.

Now he's noticed. He thinks some faceless enemy is hunting him. He's petrified.

And it's all my fault.

The mature thing would be to confess everything and quit Killigrew Street. Instead, I've convinced myself that teaching him self-defence will help. Because, apparently, my capacity for self-sabotage knows no bounds.

I should tell him the truth. I should walk away. I should definitely stop stealing his hoodies.

But with enemies from my shady military past circling, and Felix in real danger, walking away isn't an option. Even if staying means risking my heart.

Contains: the world's most incompetent stalker, hoodie-stealing but not in the cute way, self-defence lessons that are definitely not just an excuse for touching, a disaster of a K-pop concert, sneak attacks in the form of wolf licks, Kit teaching Felix much more than karate kicks, and a glorious HEA.

Glitched Fates is the third in the Killigrew Street Case Files series, a collection of humorous MM PNRs centered around a found family of supernatural detectives. Each one is a standalone adventure following a different couple, but prior reading of Moonlit Nights (book two) is recommended for maximum enjoyment.

SNik's review:

Third in series (The Killigrew Street Case Files), must be read in order. Paranormal. Fated mates. POC representation. Demisexual representation. Found family. Slow burn. Dual POV. Heed content warnings.

Is stalking your mate a bad look? Kit has known Felix was his mate for years, but getting up the courage to tell him or even woo him seems an impossible mission.

This was such an entertaining story with two socially awkward men, tons of pining, a protective mate, and a slow courtship that is beyond swoony. I really enjoyed getting to know Felix through his past and family, and appreciated how Kit never wants to pressure Felix or have expectations of him. Whenever Feix and Kit are on page together I felt myself smiling, they really felt like they were meant to be connected. There certainly ends up being steamy parts and danger, where Felix steps up big time and isn’t just along for the ride, and all the supportive characters at Killigrew Street were their awesome helpful crazy family selves. Another fun addition to this series.

Molly Otto's review:

Kit accidentally starts stalking his mate Felix. Felix is a little skittish to start with and when he senses someone is following him he seeks help from Kit. What starts with a tentative courtship turns to soul defining binding. These two are so different yet so perfectly matched for one another. Was brilliant to see Kit and how he handles his side of what is at all happening with Killigrew Street Hotel team and its many chaos gremlins. Felix absolutely adore his sweetness and awkwardness that just had its own way of balancing out these characters. Kit is taken back to where it all started falling apart and must face his past to be able to have the future he and Felix truly deserve. Having Felix help out in his unique tech brilliant way was fun to show his chaos gremlins match with the rest of the team. With each addition of this series you delve deeper into this world and cannot help but need more to know what going to happen next.

In theory could read without having read previous installments but would miss out all the nuances that make this series work so well.

Angel's review:

TJ! I don't know what type of magic you have but you always write books that I absolutely love and adore, every time! Since the first book in the series there has been a vibe between Kit and Felix but not one that we really got to know much about.

Until now! In this book, we finally get to learn exactly what's going on between them. Oh my gosh, I love these two! Kit's awkwardness and Intel reports about how to woo Felix was just so endearing! And Felix is shy and awkward too so these two were just the more adorable match for each other. Adorkable, if you will. See what I did there?

I thoroughly enjoyed going on yet another adventure with the crew of Killigrew Street, I loved being able to see what hijinks these characters got into and how Felix and Kit became a couple even when the odds were stacked against them. The plotline itself was absolutely fantastic! I've loved how it's continued through each of the books and has flowed smoothly in each one. In each book we've gotten more details behind the awful company that kidnapped wolves and turns them into puppets, we've also discovered more clues about their process, and in this book, them finally getting knocked down a peg.

I adored how Felix took things into his own hands and was determined to save Kit no matter what. I also loved how Rory tagged along and those two went rogue to go find and save Kit. Those action scenes were fantastic! They were described really well, had a lot of depth, and I loved that Felix controlled everything due to his superior hacking skills.

All in all, this book was another absolutely fantastic addition to this series! And the ending is going to leave you screaming.

TJ!! How could you leave us with a cliffhanger like that??? I knew something was up with Freddy...
