The Olympics, the dream. But competing against the person you secretly love and can never be with, torture. Camden and Ren have to find a way to win together. A gorgeous duet this is the finale.
From the blurb:
The Meridian Cup brought them together. The Olympics may tear them apart . . .
Camden
Ren and I scorched the ice with our Meridian Cup performance. After that, our careers caught fire.
Now we’re on our way to the Winter Olympics in Japan. On rival teams.
It’s been months since I’ve worked with Ren, months since we’ve touched, so long that I no longer know if what we had was real or just some kind of fever dream I can’t forget.
When I see him at the Games, my body remembers how it feels to hold him close, and I can’t stop craving what we had. Craving him.
But Ren’s father is back, and Ren is more distant than ever.
Was everything we had just a fleeting dream?
Thrown into the spotlight, can we survive competing against each other, and is winning Olympic gold worth the price of my heart?

Ren
The time has come to prove to the world, prove to my father, that I’m good enough.
But what if the one thing I’m searching for can’t be found on a podium?
What if, the more I fight for Olympic gold, the hollower I become?
Because the only thing I truly want, the only shining light in my life, is the one impossible thing I can never have.
If I want to win, I have to let Cam go.
And if I let go of my heart, what’s left to dance for?
The world watches as we circle each other, rivals on the ice, something else off it.
I can’t have him and dance for gold too.
So, do I dance to win or fall for love?
* * *
Return to the world of ice dance, where egos clash, love is complicated, and where competing against each other under the Olympic spotlight might cost Ren and Cam their hearts. The Ice Dance duet comes to its steamier, heartfelt, and emotional finale in Off the Edge.
SNik's review:
Second in duet (Ice Dance), must be read in order. Second chance. Opposites attract. POC representation. Dual POV.
It’s been more than eighteen months since Camden and Ren have seen each other, and now they are in Japan getting ready to compete against each other in the Olympics. Boy howdy, the yearning.
These two both still have strong feelings for the other and the constant belief that they couldn’t make it work was heart wrenching. It was annoying that Camden continued to be present for Ren even though Ren would not or could not communicate with him honestly about his feelings or the outside pressure of his father’s threats. But, the moments when they were together alone there was no denying their connection remained and those moments were so worth the angst. Overall this was an entertaining duet, with some really wonderfully emotional writing and two characters that I was certainly rooting for to do well in the Olympics and get their HEA together.
