Unprecedented (Singular Magics Book One) by Bix Barrow

UNPRECEDENTED kicks off the Singular Magics series from Bix Barrow. This is a second chance fated mates throple story.

From the blurb:

Magic? Healing powers? I’m just trying to adapt as I go along. But falling for two men at once? I didn’t see that coming...

This time last year I was just a regular guy with a regular life. Nurse by day, sparkly club twink by night. Then I learned there’s magic in this world, and I almost died in the process. I’m good now. Just a gnarly scar on my belly as a reminder. Well, that and the magical healing ability.

Turns out being the only Healer in, well, ever can put a target on your back, but the local shifter pack is kind enough to lend me some personal protection. Bonus? One of my security guards is Oz, a big giant teddy bear—not an actual bear—who was rescued from a supernatural trafficking ring. He’s trying to get his life back to normal, and I’m happy to help. Dating is a normal activity, right?

Things are going swimmingly until my friend Ellis’ unfairly gorgeous, world-class PITA brother shows up. We do NOT get along. Well, we didn’t. Arch wants to clear the air between us, and since he’s the Hunter who saved Oz, I’m willing to let bygones be bygones.

Only Oz thinks Arch wants me, and he’s interested in Arch too. It’s not greedy to have both of them, is it?

Before I can decide, the evil trafficker shows up again, kidnapping me and Oz AND MY MOM. I’m sure Arch is on his way to save us, but there’s no time to wait.

This a*****e’s going down.

Unprecedented is an MMM contemporary paranormal about a kick-ass human with healing powers, a buff Hunter with emotional walls for days, and a cinnamon roll... um, what kind of shifter is Oz again? Unprecedented features an MC who appeared first as a side character in the Wonderfall series but is written to be a standalone.

Tropes: Grumpy/sassy/sunshine, found family, first time bi, suspense, and humor.

Molly Otto's review:

This is one of those books that took me awhile to get into the swing of the pace, but once I did, man it held my full attention. Back in the Wonder series, when Manny was a part of the rescue operation of his best friend, he was seriously injured, and Jackson, the entity saved him by using their life force. During this period Manny had a not great meeting with Archer, a hunter, from a not open-minded family and took that out on Manny. With time now passed Arch is given another shot at meeting and becoming friends with Manny. Meanwhile, Manny's new abilities are becoming well known, causing attention on him, that he is not ready for or wanting. The locals were offering their assistance and that is how Oz enters his world. Oz was a former captive, who is working though his trauma with the aide of the Were pack and now Manny, Oz also happened to be rescued by Arch, a man he never forgot. When these three lives merge and cross you feel the immediate connection and know they are all meant to be with each other. The story is a lot but in the end it all plays well off each other to a satisfying conclusion and hope for more of this world to come in the future.
