First in series (Urban Rivals). Urban fantasy. Adversarial to coworkers. No burn. Single POV. Mild cliffhanger (HFN) as the series continues. 

Jericho works as a contractor tracking down magical artifacts and Theodore is his sort-of work nemesis that works for one of the corpos doing the same thing. When they are tasked to work together and track down a recent spate of thefts and distortions they find working together isn’t all that bad. 

Starting with some instant action and top tier banter, Jericho and Theodore are constantly on the move and dealing with trouble throughout the story. As we only get Jericho’s POV there is definitely attraction from his side, but we don’t really get a definitive answer to whether Theodore feels the same. I enjoyed the world building here, and for fans of this author, there is a cameo from the Wild Hearts series (Lochlann and Sylvain), so this is the same universe but a totally different setting. I really appreciated Jericho’s unusual magic, and his best friend Xavi’s sass, and I look forward to getting more about his and Theodore’s backgrounds and future romance.
