Sure, Everest wants to do his civic duty, but when his monster wants to keep him for himself there's a lot more at stake than Everest realizes. Maybe it's okay to fall for Rathyn if it becomes more than a transaction and feelings grow.
From the blurb:
When portals from another world split open the sky, humanity braces for war… only to discover the monsters from Erethar aren’t here to conquer. They need something from humans. Something oddly specific in order to survive.
And that's when the government begins recruiting for a ritual that sounds a lot like a cross-dimensional booty call.
Normally an exclusivity contract with a monster called Rathyn of the Dark Vale would be a hard pass, but the more time I spend with him, the more I realize there’s more to this whole monster/human thing than what the government is telling us.
I want to believe it’s nothing more than an arrangement, but the way he melts under my touch, and the way he’s constantly seeking more, makes me believe that maybe his fate is wrapped up in my own.
It’s no longer about what I can do for him.
It's about what we mean to each other.
I’m Everest Hale, and I’m doing my part to save the world with my… Well, I’m not at liberty to discuss, but let’s just say it’s given with vigorous enthusiasm.
You’re welcome, Earth.
Suck is the first book in the MM Monster Romance series Feed and Feast. It contains a clueless human who’s just looking to do his duty for humanity, a naïve monster who has no idea how much humanity will change him, so much sucking, swooning, antagonists to lovers, cuddling as a love language, body piercings, secret romance, and a toe-curling happily ever after.
SNik's review:
First in series (Feed and Feast). Paranormal. Fated mates. Mainly single POV. Heed content warnings.
Everest is fine with doing his duty being on the receiving end of a blow job each week for the monsters that had a treaty with Earth. However, when Rathyn wants a contract for multiple times a day Everest isn’t expecting to start developing feelings for the alien military commander.
This was an intriguing new world build with high heat almost immediately in a transactional intimacy that grows into something else. The background for Everest is compelling, and his worldview admirable, and I did appreciate that he was no push over for Rathyn. The secondary characters introduced were interesting and it is easy to see which characters might be in future stories for the series. I am not a fan of piece-meal information about motivations and supernatural worlds, so it was difficult for me to given the single POV and the many unanswered questions about the alien culture. I wish there was more between Everest and Rathyn explained with the mental bond, but I can see how this book and series will be a big hit with a lot of readers.

Angel's review:
If you read the Deaf Hearts series the two co-wrote together then you know that they make a fantastic writing duo! When they announced another co-written series I was so excited! Especially because this one is paranormal romance and I love a good paranormal romance!
This book immediately drew me in from the very first page I was captivated by this intriguing and creative world. I absolutely LOVED how much attention to detail went into the world building of this book, as well as the intricate descriptions of all the different types of monsters. All those details really helped make this story feel really fleshed out and lets you know that these two authors took their time to truly conceptualize what they wanted this story, and this world to be.
Everest and Rathyn are a pair like no other, they are like oil and water, they just don't mix well together. At least, that's how their arrangement is at first. But! Over time, the lovely Everest eventually wore down Rath's walls and they formed a personal connection with each other outside of their contractual arrangement. These two had so much tension between them! There was so much angst and plenty of snarky remarks, unintentional insults, and lots of..fluids be shared.
So, considering the monsters in this world survive on human..um, fluids, the book does have a lot of steamy scenes. And considering that's how these monsters are I cannot really fault the book or the writing for that because I get it. However, for me personally, I would've loved less spicy scenes and more moments of Everest teaching Rath more 'human' things. Like when he had Rath try broccoli? That scene was super cute and I would've just loved to see more similar to that.
I don't want to spoil the events that happened in this story but I will say that its definitely worth the read. I really enjoyed getting to dive into a new world with an interesting concept and I'm really excited to see where else this series goes. I am so looking forward to Cielo's story, he is such a sweetheart and I want to know more about him!!
