Spectral Quest (Spectral) by Regitse Liljadorff

SPECTRAL QUEST is a best friends little brothers romance. This is a no angst romance a part of a series, but can be read as a standalone.

From the blurb:

Mike:

A long work trip was supposed to be my reset button — soak up a new culture, forget my ex, and absolutely not fall into another emotional mess. Simple, right?

Then I started talking to Dylan.

My little brother’s best friend. My new roommate. The guy whose voice somehow became the best part of my day.

Just as I’m starting to wonder when exactly “friendly chats” turned into can’t-stop-smiling feelings, I find a ring box… and unlock a family trait: apparently, I can see ghosts now.

Specifically, Erik — a very persistent ghost — who needs my help delivering that ring to his boyfriend, Marcus.

Now I’m juggling a secret ability I never asked for, ghost-training sessions, and feelings for Dylan that are definitely not part of the plan. Being a medium is harder than my family made it look, especially when I start leaning on Dylan a little too much… and after I faint at work, it’s impossible to ignore that whatever’s happening between us isn’t just friendship anymore.

Spectral Quest is an MM Paranormal Romance featuring a medium and his greatest temptation. Expect a bi-awakening, friends-to-lovers, accidental bonding, ghosts, low angst, and a sizzling romance. HEA guaranteed. Can be read as a standalone but best enjoyed after reading Spectral Meddling.

Molly Otto's review:

Mike leaves for work in Africa for two years, during his time away he becomes closer via text with Dylan, his best friends' younger brother. In Africa, he comes upon his first ghost, Erik, who wants to reunite with his lost love Marcus. Together they go home for Mike to get a better understanding of his medium lineage and how to handle this ability. Love that in their time apart these two men form a deep bond that when they get back together in real life, they still have that deep connection. With the 'help' of a feisty ghost, pure magic happens and an unbreakable bond is formed between Mike and Dylan. On their first oversees adventure they go to Denmark to help Erik reunite with his love. The author does a beautiful job in intertwining these twos relationship along with their newly formed bond and jobs in the world of being a medium. The way they explain each of the locations brings them alive, the different interactions with the different ghosts shows a beautiful range of emotions. I absolutely loved everything about this story.

This book can be read as a standalone, I did it without realizing it was a part of an already established series.
