Match Made by TA Moore

What if Cupid threw a bunch of meet-cutes at you and the most unlikely one sticks? When a grumpy pilot meets an overwhelmed single parent he finds that he's willing to be kind for one special guy.

From the blurb:

Cupid has a help desk

Alaskan pilot Quentin Hannigan is good at his job, but not so great with people. He's the last man anyone who knows him would expect to fall in love at first sight. Until he does. Hard.

Just one problem.

Joe Kendrick, widower and frazzled dad of three, does not have the bandwidth for this. Between his kids, his trainwreck of a sister, and bills that keep piling up, the last thing he needs is a too-good-to-be-true, and admittedly very hot, pilot swooping in to play knight in shining armor.

Luckily for the star-crossed couple the world's premier, and only, covert match-making service is on the case. Match-Made's highly trained operatives are ready and willing to engineer a happy-ever-after, one way or another..

They just need Quentin and Joe to co-operate, just once!

SNik's review:

Standalone. Slightly mystical. Single dad. Opposites attract. Slow burn. Quick read. Dual POV.

Quentin’s friends are hoping a love match will make him less grumpy, not expecting the man to immediately fall for a harried single father. Joe is widowed and not looking for romance, but something about Quentin’s continued solid presence slowly breaks down his walls.

As Joe and Quentin are quietly pushed together (perhaps by some creative matchmaking), Quentin finds he can be kind to someone if it happens to be Joe and his kids, and Joe realizes that he can start to feel love again even if it’s at the same time as life keeps throwing obstacles in his way. I liked that there is an ease to Quentin becoming involved in Joe’s life, and that Joe doesn’t want rescuing but still appreciates Quentin’s kindness. I wish there was more to this story as I would love to see how this family evolves over time and how their HEA would look. If this were to become a series I would be happy to read more.

Match Made is currently available as an e-book and paperback
