Red Moon Rising (Strength of the Pack 3) by Joy Lynn Fielding

I don't want to spoil anything.. but Joy, how could you do that to sweet Tristan?!?

From the blurb:

Owned by one wolf. Falling for another. And wolves don’t share.

Tristan loves college, working at the diner, and his pack. But when hostile wolves abduct him one night, none of that helps him. Suddenly he’s a prisoner in a place where fear is law, and mercy doesn’t exist. Except… someone is watching him. A quiet stranger who flinches from his gaze—but never quite looks away.

Colby Williams survives by staying invisible. It’s the only way to placate the wolf who thinks he owns him—and the only way to stay alive. And then the pack drags in a young wolf with bright eyes, who should be terrified by what’s ahead of him. Instead, he keeps watching Colby—curious, hopeful, and alive in a way Colby can scarcely remember being.

And when Tristan looks at him like he matters… Colby can’t look anywhere else.

He knows it’s a mistake. He knows it’s dangerous. But he also knows it’s already too late.

Angel's review:

I have wanted Tristan's story since I read the first book in this series, his character was always described in such an adorable way that it made me curious about him.

Let me say this, he's simply so precious! Similar to Jason yet different in his youthful glee. He reminds me a bit of a golden retriever in some ways, happy go lucky and eager to play, going from one topic to another. That's not all he is though, he can also be serious and thoughtful, especially when it comes to those he loves.

I've enjoyed the found family aspect that has been an integral focal point in this series so far, but in this book specifically it really came through. Especially between Tristan and Bryce. They might not be biologically related but that doesn't matter, Bryce is Tristan's dad, and Tristan is Bryce's son and that's that. I liked their bond and how that was showcased throughout the story.

As for our other MC, Colby, my heart hurt for him. He's been kept prisoner and slave by Cale's pack for years, and just when he resigned himself to his fate, he meets Tristan in an unexpected way. And that night changes everything.

I liked Colby and Tristan together, they made a great pair. They had a lot to work though, understandable considering their circumstances, but even with the setbacks and the worry along with the hesitation and past trauma, they figured out how to make it work. How to make them work, together. Which was really nice to see.

I'm really enjoying this series and the overarching plotline that just keeps getting more interesting. I'm looking forward to seeing how Bryce copes with meeting his mate considering how he's the player of the pack. His story should be interesting, and I'm here for it!

I do want to say that this series shouldn't be read as a standalone, I think it's imperative to read the series altogether because then you'll have all the information. Whereas if you started this series reading this book, I think you'd be a bit confused about all the information that gets referenced from past books.
