A SIREN SONG FOR CHRISTMAS is a hurt comfort age gap monster holiday romance. Trent's crush on the local aquatic horticulturalist probably won't amount to anything, especially since Malachi already lost his siren mate, but can a siren have another mate in one lifetime?
From the blurb:
A pining hearth-witch. A grieving siren. A Christmas invitation that changes everything.
Trent has a crush on the siren who runs the Aquatic Horticultural Emporium. With his melodic voice, striking blue skin, and those very intriguing tentacles, Malachi features in all of Trent’s late-night fantasies. But what chance does a nervous virgin who constantly blushes have with the older siren? Still, Trent has to try.
But Malachi has no inkling that Trent is trying to catch his attention. He can’t imagine that this sweet young man would be interested in him. After all, Malachi is reserved, gloomy, and deep in his grief for his lost mate. Then Trent suggests a purely physical relationship. Malachi surprises himself and says yes.
As snow falls and hot chocolate flows, something tender flickers into life between them. Trent brightens Malachi’s dark and lonely world. But can the siren open his heart again? Or will they both spend this Christmas alone?
A Siren Song for Christmas is an MM cosy fantasy romance with plenty of spice. It features Christmas vibes, a family of hearth witch bakers, a touch-starved siren, a pining virgin, an age gap, very inappropriate use of tentacles, a pet frog, and an HEA. Whilst this book is part of a series, it can be read as a standalone.
SNik's review:
Fifth in series (An MM Monster Romance Christmas), but can be read as a standalone. Paranormal. Age gap. Hurt/comfort. Found family. Dual POV.
Trent has a crush on the owner of the local aquatic horticultural emporium, but Malachi is a siren that lost his mate long ago. When they start a friends with benefits arrangement, Malachi is honest that he won’t be able to give his love again, but as time passes Malachi realizes that Trent brings love into his life after all.
This was a really sweet story filled with all of Trent’s innocence and yearning and Malachi’s loneliness and grief. I couldn't help but hope all along with Trent that Malachi could grow to love him and it was obvious that both of them were falling in a quiet way. This family is always full of support, and I’m glad that they saw Trent when he was struggling and also let him know that he was loved. Another really both nice and spicy entry to this series.
Molly Otto's review:
Trent has had a crush on Malachi since the first time he saw the siren at his Aquatic Horticultural Emporium, just is unable to put the words out the correct way. Malachi after losing his mate has lived a quiet existence unable to move past his grief. When Trent proposes friendship with benefits, Malachi cannot resist the tempting man. The two allow each other in their lives and hearts but as we know grief doesn't always make things easy. Really enjoyed that the author had no problem going against the normal and showing how grief affects you in waves. Even with all of this, you always were rooting for Malachi to be able to see the beauty of Trent. Mix in this beautiful chaotic family that cannot help but he nosy and helpful and just a beautiful madness that works for this family. It was nice to see them all settling into their relationships and living their best lives.
