A spin off series within Silvia Violet's Theriot mobster family universe. Lorenzo has sworn to keep his hands off the young son of a family rival, but there's something about Nikolai he can't deny.
From the blurb:
From the moment I see Lorenzo, I want him. He’s dangerous, part of the infamous Theriot family who runs the New Orleans crime scene.
I have no doubt he’d enjoy destroying me. He hates my father almost as much as I do.
The danger I’m in at home frightens me, but when Lorenzo sends shivers down my spine, it turns me on. He becomes my fantasy, the man I long for, the one who might save me.
My father tries to sell me to the highest bidder, but I escape. I have no one to run to except Lorenzo.
He agrees to protect me… for a price.
I’m more than willing to pay with my body, but when my heart gets involved, I no longer know if I’ll survive my time with him.
SNik's review:
First in series (Forbidden Mafia). Family enemies. Age gap. Hurt/comfort. Forced proximity. Dual POV. Heed content warnings.
Nikolai is being forced into an arranged marriage by his father to solidify ties between mob families, but he fantasizes about a hero from another family entirely. Lorenzo has been warned away from Nikolai and his past keeps him from pursuing the young man, but the cruelty of Nikolai’s father forces him to act.
This story was very intalust/instalove and once Nikolai comes to Lorenzo for protection they quickly fall into a dynamic that works for them. I did wish there was more time spent on them getting to know each other outside of the bedroom dynamics, but this was a good introduction to a new side of the Theriot mob family. Overall, a fun read with spice and some new characters to root for in the Theriot universe.
