Angel's review:
The Breeding Session by Piper Scott
West and Luca's story is so precious, I love the friends to lovers trope and that was definitely apart of this story. I will say that there are A LOT of spicy scenes, but I enjoyed the moments where they spent time together outside of those moments the best. The ending is very cute!
The Pregnant Omega Next Door by Anna Wineheart
Zenith and Emre's story is a bit of an insta-love story mixed in with falling for your next door neighbor.
Shilo and Corbyn by Lisa Oliver
Corbyn and Shiloh's story is so sweet but also heartbreaking. Shiloh has been held captive for years and just when he thinks he's safe, the hospital he's at tries to take his baby from him. Until his Alpha mate walks in and changes everything. I liked these two together, they make a really great couple! Corbyn is so nice and genuinely cares about Shiloh and Nora's well-being, I adored him! Shiloh is a sweetheart in his own way, he's tenacious, determined, and so full of love to give. It was awesome seeing his character grow a bit.
One Life Stand by Grae Bryan
Opposites Attract comes into play with Bracken and Tanner's story. Theirs was interesting in the sense that they didn't really have a 'dating' period, moreso once they got out of their own way they were able to be happy together. I found it interesting, and quite good! I liked the world this story was set in too, very unique.
Voluntary Discharge by Margaret Couplet
I wish this one was longer! I would've loved to see more of Gio and Ezra together. I wanted to know what they'd be like as a couple but this story ended before that happened. I did still enjoy it though, the romance was implied and the story was written well.
Alpha for Hire by Toby Wise
A steamy short where two men fall in love over the course of a heat.
Not in the Birth Plan by Kerry Kilpatrick
Rowan, Silas, and Baby A's story starts out a bit unconventionally but it's so cute! Silas is so chill, understanding, and supportive, he's just a genuinely good guy. Rowan takes a while to trust him and realize he doesn't have to do everything on his own, and the moment he realized that for himself showed how much he growed throughout the story.
Breedable by Crea Reitan
Wow, I'm blown away by this story. Iri is a school teacher and in his class he is teaching his students about the history of their species. Which means we (the readers) got to learn about the backstory of how their species came to be, how they evolved, and why their population is dwindling. I thought that was so cool, it gave so much depth to the story and really immersed me into their world. The pack component was interesting as well and so cute, they just wanted what was best for Iri and Luken, which was super sweet!
Of Rain and Enchanted Forest by Layla Dorine
I really enjoyed Layla's story, I liked how there were different paranormal characters and how there were backgrounds on each of them. I also thought the aspect of these men knowing who their fated mates are was really unique! They didn't know what they were to each other until they were all together, which I liked a lot. I wish this was longer!
Blood of the Damned - Thorn by JP Sayle
Insta love, almost instant family, and vampire surprises! I thought this was interesting, I've read plenty of vampire books but never one quite like this. When the full version comes out I'd definitely be interested in reading it as I'm curious about the characters.
Liam by Sam Taylor
A steamy short with an unexpected pregnancy.
His Sweet Perfect Mate by Allie W. Scott
An insta-mating from the moment these two meet, and they both want a big family. (Which they both achieve.)
Knot His by Alice La Roux
"It's always been you." Such a sweet quote! I'm glad these two finally talked to each other about how they feel.
In Your Eyes by Megs Pritchard
Anatoly and Kael's story features a horrific arranged mating, (that thankfully doesn't happen), a vampire/wolf mating, and lots and lots of kids. This was quite enjoyable to read as I enjoyed having the backstory of how these two men met and how they came to be.
Knotted Hearts by Kora Quinn
I adored Brooks and Kes. Both of these men are absolute sweethearts, who are both just looking for their person to love and who will love them back. I liked how their relationship progressed almost naturally, it didn't feel rushed or instant either, which I enjoyed. I'll definitely be on the lookout for future books set in this world!
His Bear Bombshell by Anna Sparrows
Conrad and Tim are that perfect fated Mate pair! They are both so awkward and adorable, they make a fantastic couple together. Their story is quite unconventional and the baby was an unexpected surprise, but I really liked how things went with them. They took their time getting to know each other with no pressure for more which I really loved.
The Leopard Omega by Kiernan Kelly
A boss/assistant insta lust story.
Shield My Heart by Morgan Elektra
Wrong place/Right Time, insta-lust, and has almost a historical vibe.
Securing His Mate by Minerva Howe
Reed and Hamish's story starts off with them already a bonded pair who are expecting their first baby. I thought this was good, I wish we could've seen/had gotten told how Hamish and Reed met and got together, but I still enjoyed it.
There's Always Tomorrow by Ashlynn Mills
This was really unique and quite interesting! Both of these men have had their hearts broken by those who said they'd love them, their broken hearts ended up leading the way right to their fated Mate. I liked that there was a bunny shifter and that there were scenes where he was his animal form, I thought the concept of him being in a pet store and getting adopted was a nice quirk.
The Gallery by Vinni George
I adored Vinni's writing style and creativity, the characters they make are always so fantastic and personable. Noah and Milo are absolutely fantastic, their story is my favorite in this whole anthology, I really hope their story gets extended in the future at some point. I loved how this one felt like a whole complete story even with it being shorter, I didn't feel as though I was missing much, things weren't too rushed, it was just really nice. And! I've never come across a book with a stingray shifter and a show leopard shifter before, that was so cool and really unique!
The Right Time by Jena Wade
A bear shifter and a wolf shifter finally work up the nerve to admit their each other's mate!
One More Time by Michelle Frost
This one is so precious! Both Nash and Micah work at SWAT and are on the same team, they're best friends with the occasional benefits mixed in. When their "One last time" together ends up with Micah being pregnant, it finally gave them the gateway to be open about how they feel. I wish this was a bit longer as I would've loved to see more of Micah and Nash.
Onyx and His Golden Retriever by Rye Cox
Can I just say, "aw!!"?! Onyx and Luca are so adorable, Luca is quite literally a golden retriever who has the energy to match. Onyx is a cat shifter who's more calm, less excitable, and one who's skeptical of all of Luca's growing affection. I really enjoyed their story it was absolutely fantastic and I hope it gets extended in the future!
Feed Me, Please by Kiki Clark
This is the last story in this anthology and it's a next door neighbor whirlwind romance!
All in all I think this anthology is full of good stories from authors who donated their time and work to help support and promote a really good cause and charities.
Labor of Love is currently available as an e-book and paperback and can be read as part of your Kindle Unlimited Subscription
