If Sebastian can talk Byron into giving dating a try can his longtime crush turn into something more than a professional relationship? For Byron, money isn't the reason he wants to date Sebastian, but using it as an excuse might just be the best decision if they don't get caught.
From the blurb:
He’s a golden retriever with a billion-dollar bank account.
Sebastian is a brilliant, thoughtful boss who’s also too sexy for words.
And for some crazy reason he has set his sights on me—his lowly, boring, always-proper assistant.
I should say NO.
I need to say NO.
But YES is so much more delicious and fun.
The Bargain is the first full-length novel in the Executive Suite Secrets series, which includes a billionaire boss, a very proper assistant, a high-stakes bargain, stolen kisses, forbidden romance, meddling friends, and a sweet, forever kind of love.
SNik's review:
First in series (Executive Suite Secrets). Boss/employee. Forbidden relationship. Dual POV.
When Sebastian can’t dismiss his years-long crush on his personal assistant, he comes up with a way to finagle a date, a bargain to test the waters. Byron admits his attraction to his boss, but they are certainly playing with fire and Byron is risking his feelings and his livelihood if it doesn’t work out.
I enjoyed both of these characters, Byron for his intelligence, pride, loyalty, and personal strength while Sebastian was kind, affectionate, generous and just so genuinely happy to have Byron in his life. This story was generally syrupy sweet, with a little expected drama near the end, but I really enjoyed Byron and Sebastian’s chemistry and how well they knew each other before they fell into a more personal relationship. I wish there was more time spent with Byron’s brother Ronnie, but overall I really enjoyed every moment when Byron and Sebastian were on page together as they really seemed like such a perfect match. I’m looking forward to more from this series.

From the moment this book began, I knew I was going to enjoy it. Like Byron, I was utterly charmed immediately by Sebastian's bright personality and playful nature. He may be the CEO of Courtland Enterprises, but Sebastian is also a mischievous little shit. A mischievous little shit who also tends to pout when he isn't getting his way.

Byron is more reserved than Sebastian, especially when he's in a professional setting. His skills are known throughout Courtland Enterprises and more than one person has tried to poach him from his position as Sebastian's Executive Assistant. And despite the fact that Sebastian has had a massive crush on his assistant for years, he's also smart enough to know that giving up such a competent assistant would be a mistake. If only he knew.
I felt really bad for Byron a lot in this book. He's been the only one responsible for his families' needs and it's basically drowning him financially. Then, when Sebastian finally wears him down into agreeing to see where their chemistry leads, it's Byron who knows if things go sideways, he will be the one to lose it all. It's against office policy to date a superior and if it came down to the CEO or an executive assistant, who do you think the company is going to come down harder on?
Sebastian's friends were a definite highlight and that's a good thing as I'm pretty sure they are going to be the future MCs of this series. They are a strange mix of personalities, but you can tell they all care about one another. I'm looking forward to Declan's story in The Complication next!
