The series finale of Nazri Noor's Arcane Hearts series. Can Jackson and Xander finally get the wedding of their dreams without the Black Market blowing up or anyone trying to kill them? Their loyal group of friends help them with their special day and the final fight to save their world.
From the Grip of Death blurb:
Wedding bells. Death knells.
Jackson Pryde and Xander Wright are hard at work preparing for their upcoming wedding. Good thing they have everything they need right in the Black Market, whether it’s an enormous cake or the perfect wedding rings.
Jack is working on an incredible project, too: an arcane engine inspired by his parents’ schematics. If it works, artificers and mages alike will unlock untold stores of energy, making it the guild’s greatest discovery to date.
But it’s not all wine and roses. Echoes from the past point to dark secrets still lurking within the Black Market. Jackson and Xander must unearth these mysteries before they wreak havoc and ruin the wedding... or put their very lives in danger.
SNik's review:
Eighth in series (Arcane Hearts), must be read in order. Series finale. Paranormal. Established relationship. Found family. Single POV.
The much anticipated wedding of Jackson and Xander is being planned, the timing coinciding with Jackson becoming a guild master while finishing an arcane invention his parents had begun years previously.
I absolutely love being back with Jackson and Xander, they have come so far in their lives and relationship and are so solid together and sweet. It is especially nice to see their surrounding friends and family supporting them personally and professionally, and I am sad to see this world end. Thank goodness we get some final closure about the big bad always hovering just out of sight, and Jackson and Xander are up to the task with plenty of backup from their friends. Jackson and Xander as a couple, and their adventures, have been one of my favorite reads.
