Stray Slay, the final book in the Rainbow Rescue Cat Café series gives us a small town, opposites attract story featuring an older buttoned up business guy and younger, free spirited yoga instructor...
From the blurb:
Clark
I’m way too old to fall in love. What point is there in going to bars and spending time dating when I have my work to occupy me? I’ve risen up the ranks at work, and I have the fancy apartment and retirement savings to prove it.
But something is missing from my life.
The day I meet the young, attractive, flighty yoga instructor with the wild blue hair, the loss stabs through me. Have I wasted my whole life? Or have I simply been waiting for him this whole time?
River
A person’s energy can tell me a lot about them. And the guy at the back of my yoga class possesses an aura that screams, “Help!”
It’s in my nature to reach out, but perhaps my intentions are not entirely altruistic. Clark is attractive, and I can’t help inviting him to my upcoming yoga retreat. When I get him alone in the forest, I finally sneak past his high walls and see the real him ... and it’s stunning.
My attraction to Clark is only growing the more I get to know him. But if we’re ever going to be together, he’s going to have to take a chance on a younger guy, someone who doesn’t fit his perfect, ordinary life.
I only hope I’m worth it.
Stray Slay is an age gap (nine years) small town MM romance with yoga, opposites attracting, spicy open door scenes, and, of course, lots of cats.. Go to linktr.ee/faraywrites for CWs.
Heather's Review:
I've enjoyed all of the Rainbow Rescue Cat Café stories I've read, but I have to say that River is one of my favourite characters - he's a little extra tuned into auras and energy, but he's also grounded and feels wise beyond his years. He knows what he wants and takes chances to make things happen. Clark is sweet, but so locked in his routines that watching him interact with River is like watching a flower unfurl into the sun.
This book was well paced, balancing the relationship with the spice and giving us good insight into who these men are and why they're headed to a HEA as cat co-parents...
I look forward to seeing where F. A. Ray goes next in their writing as Rainbow Rescue Cat Café was a spin off of a previous series... there's hints it might follow an emerging rock band...
This book can be read standalone but does feature characters previously written about in the series.
Stray Slay is currently available as an e-book and paperback and can be read as part of your Kindle Unlimited Subscription
