Welcome back to Paradise Falls, where not everything is what it appears to be. How to Hack a Hellhound is book two and pairs our resident hellhound hacker with his feisty mate. The hacker has set his sights on Quinton and together they work to dismantle the horrific group who abducted his human all the while falling in love!
From the blurb:
Quinton
Getting kidnapped and held hostage in a human trafficker’s basement was not on my bingo card. Getting rescued by a paranormal being was also not on my bingo card. (Apparently I needed to trade in bingo cards.) The guy who took me may be dead, but I know there are more people behind the operation, and I plan to shut it down. If I need to get the help of one of the creepy glowing eyed dudes to do it, I will. It turns out Liam is incredibly sexy and really good with technology, too. He may be great at hacking into computers, but I’m determined to hack my way into his life.
Liam
Ever since I looked into the feisty human that Dexter rescued from a basement, I’ve been a little… obsessed. Is it wrong that I watch him all the time and hack into all his technology? I’m just trying to keep him safe. After all, he’s sticking his nose into some troubling areas, and I can’t deal with the thought of him getting taken again. Of course I offer to help him when I discover his mission to take down a trafficking ring, although my motives aren’t exactly pure. The little human attracts me in a way that I can’t explain, and my hellhound thinks he’s mine, whether he wants to be or not.
Tags: Emotionally traumatized, feisty vigilante and hacker hellhound fall in love; Liam has Quinton under surveillance 24/7 and will protect him; Quinton doesn’t mind being watched if the dude with the glowing eyes will keep him safe; there’s torture and death (but only of really bad people); hellhounds have tails, and they know how to use them.

After meeting Quinton in book 1 post rescue, I knew I had to have his story. He was such a snarky grump and I thought he could use an overprotective hellhound after what happened to him. Well folks, if you think Dex was overprotective of Toby, then you ain't seen nothing yet. Liam definitely wins that game with the fact that he basically has cameras on Quinton 24/7. I am on the fence with both Aiden and Quinton when it comes to Liam's tactics. Creepy or sweet? I think it's both.

I did like how even though Quinton was a sarcastic little shit who liked to poke, he never went too far into mean territory. He complained about the cameras and the breaking and entering Liam seemed to enjoy, but he never made Liam take them down or told him to stop watching. For the first time in a long time Quinton felt truly safe and that was the best gift anyone could have ever given him after what he had been through.
Liam was absolutely adorable in his cluelessness. He couldn't fathom why stalking his mate was anything but a normal thing to do. To be fair, it worked between those two, but to everyday humans it was taking things too far by a mile. It made me laugh every time he would get confused when something was pointed out to him as him acting creepy. He just wanted to make sure his mate was safe, what could be wrong with that?
As much as I loved Liam and Quinton, I am also excited because I think I figured out the remaining couples. We all know that Aiden and Atlas are next, because the preorder for How to Tame a Hellhound is already live. But based on a few little glimpses I am thinking it's going to be Seb with Corbin and Jude with the sheriff. That leaves Josh and Wilder leftover as possibly the last couple. I can't wait to see if my guesses are correct!
Molly Otto's review:
Yeah, so all you really can say is that these hellhounds are something uniquely special. We are now post rescuing of Quinton & Aiden from the sex traffickers and they are now besties for life. Quinton is a beautiful sass monster out for vegence for what was done to him and who knows how many other men. Too bad he doesn't really know how to go about it, enter Liam, the resident hellhound hacker who may like Q, and his feisty side a little too much. In true Shannon Mae fashion buckle up, you are in for a wild ride. Be prepared to question why does this works so well? Seriously, how are these two so perfect for each other? With a fun revenge plot to take down the bad guys, get ready for a wild ride from start to finish.

Second in series (Hellhounds of Paradise Falls), best if read in order. Paranormal. Found family. Slow burn. Dual POV. Heed content warnings.

Quinton may have escaped being trafficked, but he wants to bring down the men involved and he finds an unexpected stalker may be the help he needs. Liam’s hellhound side is oddly obsessed with Quinton, he has cameras on Quinton at all times and for some reason Quinton allows it, plus letting Quinton help bring down some bad guys allows Liam to get closer to the man that might just be his mate.
I really enjoyed Liam being weirdly possessive but a cinnamon roll around Liam, accepting all of Quinton’s sassiness and black cat energy. Liam’s patient nature even though he doesn’t understand human interactions well is everything (with both Quinton and Aidan), and Quinton’s refusal to be anything less than his feisty self even when he struggles with his personal healing is admirable. It’s especially fun reading characters that accept the supernatural without blinking, and Liam and Quinton are really a lovely couple that find their mate and never question forever with them.
