The Ranch Hand and the Single Dad by Jackie North 5 Stars (Farthingdale Ranch Book 3)

"How do we...?"  He paused, than girded his nerves to continue, "How do men kiss?"  The Ranch Hand and the Single Dad is probably the sweetest of the Farthingdale Ranch books yet and gives Clay the chance to find his HEA!

From the Author:

"If Austin has forgotten what love is, maybe Clay can show him the way."

Happy-go-lucky Clay keeps busy with hookups at the local bar after working hard at the ranch. Those hookups used to be fun, but now they leave him empty.

Austin is reeling after a difficult divorce. His wife took everything, including full custody of his daughter, Bea, who is only nine.

Austin doesn’t know where his life is headed, but at least he’s got a roof over his head, and a new job as accountant at Farthingdale Ranch.

The job is exactly the kind of work he loves. The only problem is he’s distracted by Clay, who is gay. Austin is straight. There’s no way this can work.

My Review:

Coming on the heels of The Blacksmith and the Ex-Con, I wasn't sure what to expect from The Ranch Hand and the Single Dad, since Clay spent all of his time searching for love through quickie sex at the local bar.  While not explicitly discussed, Austin is coming out of an abusive relationship with his ex-wife and also seems to be very much demisexual... it's interesting as they explore their friendship and Austin's history.  This is definitely the sweetest of the Farthingdale Ranch books yet, with just a hint of heat, and an amazing story.  This book can be read standalone, however, the backstories of the couples from books one and two add to the richness of this story.

  1. This sounds like the perfect mix of sweet and sexy, it's now on my kindle!
