Aryn (Mate's Mark Book 5) by G. Eilsel

I have loved every book in this series so far, but I think this story might be tied with Nyx's now as my favorites out of all of them.

Author's note: Aryn is a First Person Dual POV MM Monster Romance series with explicit content intended for readers 18+. It is the first in a series that will have an overarching storyline carrying between books. While this series ends with a guaranteed HEA, individual books end on more of a HFN basis. The feature couple's story will be resolved, though there will be some unanswered questions and mild cliffhangers that lead into the next in the series.

When I first started reading this, I wasn't a huge fan of Cato's character, he was quite standoffish, very arrogant, and he always came across as quite rude and demeaning towards Aryn. However, as the story progressed and as I kept reading, I started seeing a different side of Cato emerging, one that I ended up liking by the time this story ended.

Aryn is a sweetheart, I adore his character so much, I would almost say he's the sunshine to Cato's grumpiness although that doesn't mean that Aryn didn't get grumpy at times himself cause he definitely did here and there. I think that's why these two work so well together, they understand each other on a deep personal level given everything they've been through, and everything and everyone they lost due to the hands of others. Their romance wasn't an easy road though, and wasn't always a happy one, but they worked things out and once they did, I think they ended up becoming one of the cutest mates out of this series so far.

I talked about the characters, now let's talk about the world building/plot. In this book, we literally get to travel to another world, we finally get to see the world that has been mentioned throughout this whole series, and G. Eilsel, I don't know how you came up with so many creative plants, scenery, and animals for a whole other world, but you did an amazing job with doing that. I loved reading about these characters' journey traveling to their destination, everything they crossed another dangerous path, (whether thar be an animal, a person, or a cliffside), I found myself holding my breath hoping nothing bad happened to these characters.

There are a lot of surprises throughout this book as well, ones I'm not going to share because I think they'd spoil the story for anyone reading this review, but let me just say that I hope the new characters that got introduced get their own stories eventually, I would love that!

All in all, a truly fantastic book!!!
