November Reign (Northarbor Coven Book 3) by Jax Stuart

We are back in the Northarbor Coven series and things are more worrisome than ever! Will Oak and Thyme be able to save the coven from Basil's plans, or will they fall victim like many others in the past to Basil's evil magic? November Reign is the finale to the Northarbor Coven series, and it's finally time for Oak and Thyme to get their story and happy ending.

From the November Reign blurb:

The Northarbor Coven is on the brink of collapse. Power struggles have left its rule up for challenge.

Thyme never thought his brother, Basil, would stoop so low and attempt to steal someone's magic. It's time for him to put Basil's reign of terror to an end. He needs the coven to trust him, but trust is in short supply, especially from Oak, the man who owns a piece of Thyme's heart.

Oak has been betrayed one too many times to give his trust over. Besides, letting someone in, even someone as unique as Thyme, is a recipe for disaster. Oak has too many secrets of his own to risk discovery. He can't help but wish they had met before he had made the biggest mistake of his life. Now Thyme is a bitter reminder of what he has lost.

Friends, family, ally or foe, battle lines have to be drawn. Thyme and Oak have to be the ones to lead the charge against Basil. With fate pushing them together at every turn, can they work together to save the coven?

November Reign is the third and final book in the Northarbor Coven series and is best enjoyed after April’s Fool. Though connected to the Sweetwater Pack series it is unnecessary to read that series first. Mpreg exists in this world, just not in this book. Contains scenes of violence and one character is harassed by a former lover.

Jacqueleen the Reading Queen's review:

"Promise me that won't be the last time you kiss me."

"I promise. Next time I kiss you, I'll be back where I belong; by your side"

Full disclosure, I alpha read this book. When I first began reading, I actually messaged the author to tell her that I wasn't Oak's biggest fan. Thyme was just so sweet and kind. He was the type of MC you just want to snuggle and keep safe. So with Oak being sort of a jerk to him at first, it really made me mad at him. I'm happy to say, I worried for not. Oak proves himself a worthy partner to Thyme and more by the end of their story.

"He closed the distance between us, took me in his arms, dipped me like in those movies, and kissed me."

Oak hasn't had an easy go of it. He's been keeping a massive secret and though I understand his reasons for keeping quiet, it doesn't exactly make him shine in a favorable light. He also has his reasons for keeping Thyme at a distance and those reasons are even more understandable. Keeping someone you care about safe is always a good thing, but when the person threatening them has powerful magic like Basil it's essential. Even if it comes at a cost to Oak and Thyme's hearts.

Thyme also hasn't had an easy road in life. He has Basil as a brother and Basil has made it his mission to make Thyme suffer for it. How someone can want to hurt a person as kind as Thyme shows how truly evil Basil was. Thankfully for us, our MCs realize that being apart due to Basil's vendetta was too close to letting him win. And so their romance began.

I really loved these two together. Not only was the steam spicy, Oak sure loves his bondage ;), but you could tell they had such love and respect for one another. It was also clear how much they cared about the fate of their coven and its members as well. They know the best way to protect everyone is for Basil's terrorizing to end. They just have to figure out a way to make that happen. Once he's gone, there will be nothing standing in their way to enjoy the HEA they always deserved.

Rogue's review:

- series finale
- not standalone
- paranormal
- witches and demons

This is the last in the Northarbor Coven series, and prior reading really is needed to enjoy this fully. All the threads from January Blues and April's Fool are tied up here, and those characters play a major part in the story. For the most part, this is Oak and Thyme's story, and it's a good one. I really liked these two together, once they got past the big initial hurdle to being together, and I loved how Thyme was there for Oak. These two together, though. HEAT - yes in capitals because wow, the chemistry is intense and I was here for it.

The story is good too, and really made me hate Basil even more than I already did from the previous stories, I don't think he had any redeemable traits at all, and I wasn't sorry when it was all over. This tied everything up neatly and was such a great HEA for Thyme and Oak which they truly deserved. I know this is the end of this story, but if there's more in this world with the witches then I'm here for it.

Molly Otto's review:

Northharbor Coven is back to fix the aftemath of past events. We are at the covens stronghold training our witches to fight in this epic battle. Thyme and Oak do not exactly start off on the right foot, but oh boy, once they let their guards down, they are truly magical together. We get to see more of past couples to see how they've been coping with so many life altering events. Jax does a brilliant job in showing the growth and struggles of all these characters and what needs to be done to put a stop to the misdeeds of their former coven leader. With more betrayals than you are ready for, be ready for a wild ride from the getgo. Be prepared for a rollercoaster of emotions and an undeniable love that will beat all odds for these men to find their HEA.
