Tate is totally out of control. Nothing seems to make his life better then Ramsey steps in to bring him into his life. Little does Tate know Ramsey is his dad.
From the blurb:
The Mobster Who Controls Ft. Leawood
Ramsey Leawood has been keeping an eye on Tate since he returned to town for one reason—Tate is his son. They’ve never met, but Ramsey has an attachment to the idea of him. When Ramsey makes the decision to take Tate under his wing as his successor, he quickly figures out how difficult it is to convince Tate to take orders.
The Criminal on the Run
Carver “Tate” Smith is a thief. He steals to make ends meet and has no family left to turn to in times of crisis. After a road rage incident, he’s arrested. It’s behind bars that he meets Ramsey, who offers him an alternative—work for Ramsey and gain his freedom or rot in jail. Tate doesn’t trust Ramsey, even if the mob boss tells him that he’s a friend of Tate’s dead mother, and he’s not going to stick around to find out what Ramsey really wants.
Falling in Love is Dangerous
Tate tries to escape, not once but twice; however, he learns that Ramsey isn’t the kind of person someone can leave. There’s something Ramsey isn’t telling him. Regardless of his suspicions, Tate also can’t help but be tempted by Ramsey. The mob boss is mysterious and lethal and knows how to play Tate’s body like a professional. What will happen when he finds out the life-changing truth that Ramsey is keeping from him?
Reed Kaye's review:
This isn’t what I expected. While there is the dad son kink it’s more the taboo part rather than kink. Since Tate didn’t know Ramsey was his dad and since they had been separated all Tate’s life it somehow didn’t feel so taboo but rather age gap.
This is also mafia so there is violence but not that descriptive so I didn’t feel this book is really all that dark.
The story itself is fun. Tate is totally a brat and pushes everyone’s buttons and that keeps it interesting. Ramsey has been through all this behavior before so it’s entertaining to see how he handles Tate. As they build a relationship Tate starts to do some of the handling. I enjoyed this story and hope there are more with this group of characters.
