Two predators who have lived across the street from each other for years finally meet in an.. unconditional way... That night changes everything.
From the King of Hollywood blurb:
As far as first dates go, you can’t go wrong with a moonlit trip to the crematory.
Marshall: I’ve lived a carefully cultivated life on a quiet suburban cul-de-sac. My anonymity and meticulous routine are all by design. No one knows of the monster that lurks inside me, this insatiable urge to commit murder, that thrives just beneath my pastel sweater vests and buttoned-up demeanor.
No one, that is, until my tiny menace of a neighbor comes along and ruins everything.
Felix Finley and I have nothing in common. He’s small and pretty, all friendly chatter and soft features, fair skin and pearly sharp teeth. He’s intriguing and I hate it, loathe him entirely. Definitely don't want to kiss his stupid, gorgeous lips.
But late one night, when I witness him dragging a lifeless corpse from his home and across his front lawn, I wonder if maybe Felix and I have more in common than I thought. Maybe Felix Finley needs my help, my expertise, and this is my time to shine. He’s batty and wicked in a way I never expected. Because I may have lived years of cautiously concealed truths, but in the wake of Felix’s pouty lips and sad eyes, I’m tempted to spill every secret at his feet. And that thought alone, is more terrifying than any monster.

Angel's review:
Marshall is human who has a ritual every year, on that day he stalks his prey and plans out the best way to make that person not be alive anymore... Marshall is a planner, he thrives on things being in order, plans being made, areas kept clean, and most of all he thrives on being alone. Or so he thought. When he finally gets to talk to his mysterious neighbor, he realizes he is not as okay being alone as he previously thought.
Felix is the town's resident vampire that no one is aware of, except for maybe a few people who suspect it. Felix is a bit chaotic, messy, vibrant, bubbly, and is the most beautiful contrast to Marshall's more subdued character. The aspect of Felix being the King from old Hollywood was a really unique component that I very much enjoyed. I liked learning more about him as Marshall did, that was quite cool!
I enjoyed going on this journey with Marshall and Felix. I adored that this book was in Marshall's POV because we really got to connect and better understand him because of that. He hasn't ever had romantic or sexual attraction to anyone, so for him to want, or rather, need to be with Felix is a new feeling for him. I thought the self discovery journey Marshall went on was written well. He figured out what term fit him the best and accepted it, there was no denial or trying to pretend he did or didn't feel a certain way, there was just acceptance which I enjoyed.
These two characters crack me up! While they admittedly are complete opposites, they just fit so well together! The way their relationship gradually grew over time was really enjoyable, throughout that time their relationship grew they were able to learn more about each other. Everything from personal details, quirks, things that bother each other, intimate details, and once their relationship grew more, they discovered that they are both predators.
I adored both of these characters! Felix's character is great because he's bubbly, soft spoken, caring, and is in need of someone to love him and give him big hugs. While Marshall isn't as bright or bubbly as Felix is, I still adored his character as well! In the beginning he portrays himself as this rigid man who doesn't like anything aside from a few select things. However, the more time he spends around Felix we get to see that he's really a soft marshmallow under his gruff demeanor. These two characters are fantastic! The dialogue and banter these two had was so enjoyable to read, I loved everything about this story!
