The Cinderella Prince (The Boys of Hudson Burrow Book 1) by Hayden Hall

A runaway prince, a regular guy that acts like a knight in shining armor, and an attraction that can't be denied. Can an unexpected connection overcome all obstacles for love?

From the The Cinderella Prince blurb:

All I want is to help those who need it the most. So when a devastatingly handsome stranger lands in Neon Nights, the gay bar where we spend our days and nights, I immediately know he’s in trouble. I also know that we share an instant connection that comes once in a lifetime, but our clumsy kiss freaks him out and turns the night into a total disaster.

The truth is that Cedric Philippe Valois Montclair is no random stranger looking for a place to stay. He is a foreign prince about to be engaged to a woman his family picked for him. Facing the prospect of an arranged marriage, the charming prince ran to New York and fell into my arms.

Cedric is a dreamer, an art lover, and hell in a tight shirt. He makes my mouth water and my heart melt.

Can I protect him from his family’s pursuit? And can I resist that endless pull of attraction?

I know I can never be more than a friend to him. Even if he didn’t have to marry a French marchioness, he couldn’t be with me. But every minute we spend on the dance floor, our hands exploring each other’s biceps and backs, my desire for him becomes hotter.

I’m about to do something terribly stupid.

I’m about to fall in love with a prince.

The Cinderella Prince is a gay new adult romance featuring a chance encounter, a prince running away from an arranged marriage, a hero in search of a cause, their found family, and a hard-earned HEA with twists and turns before the end. It can be read as a standalone, but this book established the entire world of The Boys of Hudson Burrow. This is Tristan and Cedric's story.

SNik's review:

First in series (The Boys of Hudson Burrow). Found family. Impossible relationship. Dual POV.

Cedric is on the run from his royal family, with nowhere to go and no one to turn to, he finds himself in New York where a chance meeting changes the trajectory of his life. Tristan is struggling to live a life he feels worthy of, constantly rescuing and helping others, and Cedric is no exception, but there’s something more that draws them together.

This author has a way of writing a special connection that really feels emotional and important, and the scenes with Cedric and Tristan tie them together with some romantic scenes. Of course the angst of the impossible relationship interferes but there are plenty of supportive secondary characters that help them along. Tristan is a selfless character but willing to fight for Cedric and I appreciated that Cedric was not above working and appreciated all the more “simple” things that people take for granted all the time. A sweet and enjoyable read.

Reed Kaye's review:

This is the first in a new series and I already love it.

Tristan is in a lifestyle that he isn’t sure about. He has a daily routine that changes frequently depending on who needs his help. He has little self confidence and a big heart. He is liked by his three roommates and the owner of the establishment across the street where he feels is home.

Cedric is running from the life he was born in. He can’t come out as who he really is when he stops in Neon Nights. Mama Viv is the owner and works hard and helping the people needing a job, home or anything else. Mama Viv sees Cedric is in need of help. Cedric is given a job doing miscellaneous jobs and Cedric tries his best to do the work.

When Cedric and Tristan meet its instant attraction. They find themselves unable to share all their secrets until they are forced and then things get a bit tricky.

I enjoyed this story. The author puts so much heart into the characters that I felt emotion put into the story. I’m anxious to see what comes next.

Heather's Review:

This is the second runaway prince story I've read recently and I can't say that I'm bothered by that at all!  The Cinderella Prince was a fun and poignant read that breaks open both Cedric and Tristan's inner desires and lays them out in story form as their instant attraction becomes more!

I love the aspects of found family, standing up for yourself and figuring out how to live your best life, even if that means standing up to your family or running away as fast as you can!

This book is a great start to the new series and I can't wait to see what comes out of Hudson Burrow next!
