Jon and Mack's Terrifying Tree Troubles (Jon's Mysteries Case Book 5) by AJ Sherwood

"Jon and Mack's Terrifying Tree Troubles" is another of Jon's supernatural cases that kept me wonderfully entertained with humor, suspense and romance.

From the blurb:

It’s like a bad game of Telephone.

Grant locates a murdered teen in McMinnville. He calls Jon.

Jon locates the girl’s ghost. He calls Mack.

Mack talks to the ghost who leads them to more ghosts. Who lead them to even more ghosts.

And why are all the murder victims buried under trees?

The boys are ready for this game to end, please. (Donovan especially.)

Lesetiger's review:

It's been a while since I read the books about the cases of Jon and his anchor Donovan. So I was all the more pleased that there is another volume featuring the two of them.

As always, AJ Sherwood's writing style is captivating and entertaining. Once I started reading, I didn't stop and read the book in one go.

A missing girl in a small town calls Jon to find her. He does, but the ghost of the dead girl has a lot to tell and they need Mack to help them. What sounded like a simple case turns out to be the search for a serial killer who has been murdering for a very long time.

I found the story exciting and entertaining. I liked the humor and the banter between the protagonists. I was very pleased that not only Jon and Donovan were involved, but also Mack and his anchor Brandon, who is also Donovan's brother. Once again, I thought it was wonderful how Jon can see a person's aura and what he can read out of it. Ghosts also play a big role this time.

I would have liked a few more pages in between, as the story was very fast-paced after a certain point.
