SNik's review:

Standalone. Historical. Hurt/comfort. Quick read. Heed content warnings.

Set in the late 19th century on the Scottish coast, Jacob is a former teacher and writer struggling with the cancer that is slowly draining his life away. Jacob is visited by an angel that provides comfort and companionship and between them they share about their past loves and how each of them were abandoned by their love.

This is not a romance story, it is about love and loss and pain and heartache and regret. It is an emotional story filled with grief and just a touch of hope for the possibility to once again be with the special person you once lost. A gripping tale with admirable main and secondary characters and a never ending love that will wrench the tears from you no matter how hard you fight it.
