Out of the Blue is a sweet, new adult start to the Blue Harbor Boys series.
From the blurb:
Childhood best friends, gay Parker and straight Cole have always shared a close summertime bond in their Great Lakes coastal town, Blue Harbor. When a newly confident Parker returns home from his first year in college more handsome than ever, simmering attractions spark into something neither expected.
Seeking relief from nosy observers, Cole suggests they set up a fake relationship. Parker agrees and secretly hopes the pretend dating can turn into real romance.
Just as their private passion threatens to turn them into genuine lovers, a candid video brands them #BlueHarborBoyfriends on social media. The video goes viral overnight.
As friends, neighbors, and total strangers celebrate their relationship with noisy support and messy questions, both Parker and Cole battle anxieties about their future. Can a single summer of self-discovery cement their transition from secret soulmates to official boyfriends?
Out of the Blue is the first book in the Blue Harbor Boys series. It includes friends to lovers, coming of age, bi-awakening, jock/nerd, fake relationship, and first time themes.
Heather's Review:
I love a friends to lovers story and Out of the Blue gives off such sweet, low angst vibes. I like that Cole has as many questions about his sexuality as he has answers and that the relationship moves at his pace... I also like that both boys are willing to forge their own path and love how they incorporate their relationship into their wider plans...
This book has that nostalgic, summer lovin' style and was a quick and easy read that will have you smiling and cheering on Cole and Parker as they chart the course of their lives together.
Out of the Blue is available in e-book format and can be read as part of your kindle unlimited subscription.
