The story hooked me from the start - great characters, an entertaining storyline and a fantastic narrator. We had 2 reviewers listen to On the 2.
From the blurb:
First rule of riding the subway:
Don’t talk to strangers.
Don’t even look at anyone.
I always did like a challenge.
I want to turn that frown upside down, but he barely looks at me.
I take a chance and poke the bear, and to my shock, he plays along and growls back.
The more we meet on the train, the more I realize he’s not the uptight grump I first thought. Then one night, there he is—in my world, in my space...his tongue in my mouth.
Mind blown.
But I’m no fool. A man like Nash Roman doesn’t date a guy who sells suits at Macy’s. Nash is prep school and Ivy League, and I’m night school while working two jobs to pay bills. Nash is fine wine, expensive restaurants, and handmade suits, and I’m beer, corner takeout, and a lucky find at Goodwill.
What am I—street-smart Ethan Moreno—doing, playing in his world? This man is older than me, way richer than me, and has already made it clear he doesn’t believe in love. I should walk away. Instead, I’m falling for him. Hard.
Nash couldn’t care less if his father doesn’t think I’m good enough or if people gossip because we’re so different. I need to trust in him and us, but I’ve been burned before.
And just like the Uptown Number 2, sometimes you have to travel a different route to get to the final destination: Forever.
Lesetiger's Review:
Felice Stevens has an incomparable way of writing, so the two main protagonists, Ethan and Nash, grabbed me very quickly and did not let go. The two meet by chance on the train. Ethan is a sunshine, Nash just the opposite. And that a little sunshine is good for everyone is wonderfully portrayed here. I loved both characters, Ethan even a little more. It was amusing to watch Ethan talk to the grumpy Nash and see him gradually open up.
A little drama around their budding friendship and later relationship added to the entertainment value. I loved how the relationship developed and that these two have a real chance despite being so different. I liked the secondary protagonists. There were the friends of both of them, Ethan's ex who is trying to make his life miserable, and Nash's father who is struggling to improve his relationship with his son. They all fit well into this entertaining story.
Matt Hayens did a fantastic job narrating the audiobook. He has a pleasant voice, and I liked his pace of speech. He also gives each character an appropriate voice that I could easily distinguish.
I almost regretted a bit that the story wasn't longer. I listened through the audiobook in one go because Ethan and Nash's story captivated me from beginning to end. More of this, please!

Alyssa P's Review:
Main characters Nash and Ethan were so cute once they got together! Nash was definitely not looking for a relationship, but he and Ethan gradually connected and bonded together.
On the 2 is very steamy! I loved the secondary characters of this story as well. This book was very well written, and I loved the author’s writing style and the development of the storyline! I highly recommend this book!
