Ambiguous by Leslie McAdam

Opposites?  Instant chemistry?  Slow burn?  Ambiguous has it all...

Blurb

Love is for other people, not for me.

At least that’s what I believed, until I met him

Julian Hill.

The most famous rock star on the planet. A music god with untidy hair and the voice of an angel.

I’ll never be anything but out, and he has very good reasons to stay in the closet.

After all, every move he makes is dissected, critiqued, and posted on social media, so he just wants a little privacy.

I understand that. Truly.

But no one makes me feel the way he does, and I’m pretty sure he has feelings for me as well.

Which is inconvenient since his record label hired me to sue him.

I should’ve sorted things out before I kissed him.

Oops.

Ambiguous is a forbidden mm rock star romance about a fashion-forward singer who hates labels of all kinds (except for clothing), a dapper attorney who already has a (fake) boyfriend for a very good reason, and the possibility of love saving the day.

Amy_tbs' Review:

Ambiguous follows Sam, Grandson to California’s top Democratic state senator. Sam has been pushed into a mold that he doesn’t fit. He's the token gay, after all, here to prove that even though Fred Stone’s an old-school middle-aged White man, he’s honestly into the liberal causes California Democrats support. Sam's reasons to support his family the way he does are valid but he can't help feeling used.

Jules is a rock god. Everybody presumes he's a spoiled party boy. He keeps his private life under wraps from prying journalist and fans. He’s sensitive, caring and misunderstood. He wishes to find somebody to share his life with but that's difficult when he denies his true self.

Sparks fly when the two meet at a conference call. Sam is a lawyer assisting Jules in a terms of agreement contract and Sam becomes his muse bringing Jules creative flair back to life.

This is a slow, slow burn! Jules and Sam have lots of obstacles in their path but with the help of friends the course of true love eventually wins. Jules character has lots of inspiration from Harry Styles and it's not hard to love his personality. These two are beyond sweet. I can't say i particularly like "fan fiction" but Jules is his own character and you can make of him as you please. This was well written and had great and supportive side characters. I really loved their connection and chemistry. I would recommend this. It is a cute, funny and fluffy read with just enough conflict and spice to keep things entertaining.

Heather's Review:

Instant chemistry with a deliciously glacial slow burn... Ambiguous makes you take a look at the way people live their lives and the obstacles they face to be their authentic selves and that makes for a compelling and riveting story.

Both men are forced by circumstances to hide parts of themselves, displaying an outward image that meets the expectations of their roles, but neither truly fits in those carefully crafted molds... and this book explore finding happiness while you break the mold.

This book is a sweet, almost fluffy read, but the thread of tension and conflict run strong and pull just hard enough in places to keep you from drifting fully into a sweet and wonderful world...

Ambiguous is an excellent read and an amazing study in living for yourself and finding love with an unlikely but amazing person.
