On Circus Lane (The Wright Brothers, Book 1) by Lily Morton; Narrated by Joel Leslie

The first in the Wright Brother series, On Circus Lane finally brings Tom and Bee's story to glorious, snowy life. Funny, hot, and wonderful.

From the blurb:

The first time Bee Bannister met Tom Wright, he couldn’t stand him.

Everything about the man aggravated him—his perfect hair and body, his confident arrogance, and the way he looked straight through Bee.

Which is why it’s such an unpleasant shock to find that he’ll be sharing space with him while on a Christmas holiday with friends in Scotland.

However, as the days fly by and snowy Edinburgh begins to work its magic on him, Bee discovers that sometimes first impressions can be very misleading. Tom is kind and funny, and somehow, rather than looking through Bee, he actually sees and likes all of him.

The two men grow closer, but will Bee follow his heart or his head when the holiday ends? And can relationships that start so badly ever lead to love?

From best-selling author Lily Morton comes a festive romantic comedy about enemies to lovers and the magic of Christmas.

This is the first book in the Wright Brothers series.

Lesetiger's review:

On Circus Lane is the first book in the Wright Brothers series to take place in a winter setting.

The first meeting between Bee Bannister and Tom Wright does not go well. Bee can't stand Tom. When Bee goes on a Christmas vacation to Edinburgh with his best friend and Tom with his group of friends, they become roommates, which is a shock for Bee at first. And it takes quite a while for Bee to change his mind about Tom.

Tom, on the other hand, is kind and very patient and he can wait until Bee knows what he wants.
I loved the author's wonderful writing style and especially the vivid descriptions of Edinburgh in winter. I was already there last year in the summer, but this made me want to visit Edinburgh in the winter.

I also found the snarky banter both between Bee and Tom and within the group of friends very amusing.

Joel Leslie did a good job as narrator. It was fun listening to him bring the book to life.
