Historic Event by Jeris Jean

The first book in The Coleridge Cliffs series captured my heart and I was really excited when I found out that Ben was getting his HEA in Historic Event!

From the blurb:

Ben is about to lose everything.

It all comes down to a do-or-die investor visit to his historical B&B. But the week of the big visit, he finds himself in a cast and a major predicament.

But then Julian, the cute history professor from the local college, offers to help out - both as tour guide and as posing as Ben's live-in partner.

Julian is confident he can impress the investors with his knowledge, but he's less certain he can handle playing house with Ben. At least not without exposing his massive infatuation with the sexy man.

Ben and Julian need to put on a good show for the investors. But what if Ben's B&B isn't the only thing on the line? He's also in real danger of losing his heart to his fake boyfriend.

Historic Event is a standalone novel but is part of the Coleridge Cliffs series. It's got a stubborn business owner, an adorkable professor, fake dating, forced proximity, plenty of steam, and major feels.

Heather's Review:

Once again, Jeris Jean teases out the perfect blend of character and narrative... focusing on the Stonecastle B&B and how it brings him together with Julian, the quirky history professor who is conveniently writing a book on Coleridge Cliffs history, Jeris also weaves in Shakespeare, small town history, family drama and meddling friends to help bring and keep Ben and Julian together.

Historic Event is sweet, steamy and smartly written and kept my attention throughout!  If you love a little fake dating to real love trope, you'll enjoy Historic Event as much as I did.  Although I agree with the author that Historic Event can easily be read standalone, I do recommend reading book 1, Romantic Hero because it's a great read too and it will shed some insight into the side characters and some of the town's history.

Rating: 5 Stars

Historic Event is currently available in e-book and paperback and can be read as part of your Kindle Unlimited Subscription
