The Fairy Dance by Tara Lain

Feel like a sexy holiday romp between a small business owner and a ballet dancer in town for a holiday show?  Perfect!  Let me recommend The Fairy Dance by Tara Lain:

From the Blurb:

What if the man of your dreams dances into your life—and he’s a nutcracker?

Maintenance man, Jed, might yearn for an alpha-femme guy, but where’s he going to find him in his small Oregon town?

New York ballet rising star, Henri, just wants to dance, but his desire for top roles only leads him into the pervy artistic director’s bed.

The chances of these two meeting are less likely than a grand jete. But then they do, one pre-holiday evening in a less-than-one-night stand that leaves them both yearning. Still, one short hookup on a kitchen floor doesn’t turn Jed and Henri into a match made in heaven. Not when all the world sees is a janitor and the ballet boss’s potential boy toy.

Sounds like a job for the Sugarplum Fairy.

The Fairy Dance is an opposites-attract, big city vs small town, holiday MM romance—in tights.

Heather's Review:

This is a great novella-length story that brings sweet characters, insta-lust, a pinch of angst, a nasty villain who won't take no for an answer and some yummy food together to offer up a feel-good read with some steam!

I picked it up and didn't put it down until I was done... the sign that I've sunk into the story and into the world Tara Lain creates in Oregon...  If you're looking for a quick, sweet, steamy holiday read, than pick up The Fairy Dance today!

"Ooooh...a paddling of ducks.  Who knew those feathered dudes were so kinky?"

A lovely quick read, low angst, very sweet and elegant. Loved how the movements were described and how many times did Jed had to brace??? hehehehe This story starts with the one night stand and through a quirk of fate, they meet up again - and that's when the fun begins !!! Enjoyable book to read.

Tammy's Review:

I love any story with a MC who is a dancer. This sweet holiday read was lovely, and I wanted more!

Jed and Henri were definitely a case of opposites attract. Jed is a business owner who’s company does janitorial work and building maintenance. The blurb is a little bit misleading only because Jed is not really a “janitor“ he mostly oversees his employees who do the work. He’s an intimidating bear of a man, but inside he’s a fluffy marshmallow.

Henri is a world renowned ballet dancer who ends up in Oregon for a Christmas show. He’s a little bit beaten down by the politics of ballet and the pressure he’s under from those around him.

I enjoyed the storyline of the “dominant toppy twink” and the “burly but submissive bear”, it’s a favorite of mine for sure. Overall this is a great read and well written for a relatively short holiday romance. I would have loved to see more character development for both main characters and the storyline itself. I would have appreciated an epilogue at the end as well. But if you like dancers, and you’re looking for a sweet Christmas story that’s a quick read, this book is a good choice!

Heat: 7/10 (starts with a hookup and builds from there)

Character development: 6/10 (I would have appreciated more background on both Henri and Jed, but they are good characters for such a short book)

Writing: 8/10 (smooth writing style, easy to read)

Overall 8/10 (would recommend)
