When Daddy Hurts by TL Travis (Daddies and Littles book 1)

TL Travis takes an established couple in a Daddy/little relationship and turns everything in their world on it's head... and gives them a new expectation of HEA in When Daddy Hurts

From the blurb:

Daddies are supposed to be fierce and strong. Protectors of their boys.

But what happens when Daddy is the one who needs taken care of?

Stupid, unwritten rules.

Pfft.

Who came up with them anyway?

Daddy needs me now more than ever and I’m gonna be there for him just like he’s always been for me. Darn the rules, we’re a family and that matters most.

Heather's Review:

Get out the tissues and keep them coming... this book will hurt your soul and then restore your faith in humanity...

Beginning with an established couple who are set in their daddy/little boy roles, we see the relationship evolve and grow after tragedy strikes... this book takes us from tragedy to family and does it in a beautifully written and hopeful way.

If you have triggers, please highlight this passage for spoilers that may be triggering: death of a sibling, sudden death of a child's parent - it is an integral part of the story.

This is an unusual story within the Daddy/boy dynamic and it was wonderful to see and experience.  The prose is lovely and the story is so compelling.  For those who typically don't read Daddy/boy books, the only regression is around playing with toys and of course dino nuggets and mac n' cheese and Cam becoming Cammie during playtime - there are no diapers or other significant age play themes, so if you like a hurt/comfort trope, you may want to pick this one up!
