Marcus and Evan's story is going to hit you hard in your feels, and will make you want to give both of these characters a big ol hug.
From the blurb:
Two thousand miles & one night a year in a town neither of us lives in anymore.
MARCUS
Going home is a performance. One I’ve rehearsed my whole life, even if I’m not sure why I keep showing back up.
Then I met him.
Evan is confident, happy, free in a way I’m immediately drawn to. Our chance encounter was only meant to be a one-time thing – a way for us to blow off some steam while we were both in town for the holiday.
But three years later, I find myself looking forward to going home in a way I never thought possible. Evan is the first good thing in my life in a long time. Which is exactly how I know it won't last.
EVAN
I have a great life in Seattle with good friends and my dream job, but it still feels like something is missing.
Maybe it’s being so far from my family. Going home to see them is always one of the highlights of my year.
Even more so since meeting Marcus.
I know our situation is meant to be a holiday fling, but after three years of hotel rooms and opening up to each other in a way that feels like so much more, it’s hard not to wonder what we could be – if he’d give us the chance.
Are we strong enough to survive the distance, or is one night a year all we’ll ever get?
Every November is a standalone MM romance with a long-distance situationship, mutual pining, mental health rep, and hurt/comfort themes. HEA guaranteed.
Katriana Prey's review:
I knew going into this book that it was going to be a heavier read, and it is, but its so much more than that. Yes, a portion of the book depicts Marcus's depression and how it prevented him from doing more than exist, but this book is more much more than just that. The depression representation was written in a respectful way as well as being something that I'm sure people could relate to. I think some people are going to have an issue with Marcus's behavior whilst depression had its hooks deep within him, but I think those who have been there themselves, or who has seen someone going through something similar will understand. Just like how Evan did.
These two have a very unconventional relationship but that's what made the good moments so worth it! Marcus kept his walls built up high while Evan continued to whittle away at them until he finally let him in, and that was such a beautiful moment.
This story was heartbreaking but also exceptionally beautiful. And that ending? Where Marcus was welcomed with open arms into a family who loved him for exactly who he is was so touching and heartwarming to read about. I'm very glad these two got their hard won HEA.
If you like hurt/Comfort, mental health representation, opposites attract, hookups to lovers, long distance relationships, and found family goodness, then you should add this to your tbr!
