This is going to be a short review because I don't know how to talk about this book without spoiling the ending. Having said that, you want to know what I thought while reading this book?

Wow! Just.. wow. I have loved going on this dangerous and deadly journey with Penny and Kit, seeing them grow and flourish both as a couple and as individuals was truly beautiful. I loved seeing these men figure themselves out, and how they learned how to trust snd confide in each other and being each other's support when needed. Their journey wasn't easy, it was full of loss, betrayal, hardship, and more devastation than either man could've ever predicted, but gosh, was the ending beautiful. I think all that hardship is what made the ending so beautiful because it truly felt like a hard fought for happily ever after. After everything they went through, everything they lost, everything that got destroyed, they earned that happily ever after, they deserved it.

I thought all of these book were written exceptionally well, but this one was my favorite. There were so many surprises within this book that I loved discovering and learning about, it made all the build up in the previous books worth it. Those cliffhangers were brutal at times but that just made reading each addition that more enjoyable, and the same can be said about finally getting the ending Penny and Kit deserve.

All in all, the book was amazing! I'm sad this series is over, but I really loved how it ended.

Fourth and finale in series (The Bone Men), must be read in order. Established couple. Age gap. Found family. Dual POV. Heed content warnings. 

Spring planting and their small reprieve from the Bone Men is over and now Kit and Penny are to return to Ashpoint to try and finish their mission to destroy the cult. However, Kit and Penny are not on the same page as to how to accomplish their plans, especially once Kit is unexpectedly promoted to Shroud Warden. 

This finale was worth the wait, with Kit and Penny still surrounded by supportive friends and family, but danger always hovering which kept the suspense tight. There was quite a bit of introspection where Kit and Penny were not communicating their thoughts and fears which was frustrating at times, but they still were fully and forever committed to each other and in love which I really enjoyed. The ending was a little bit of a surprise and not but thoroughly emotional and a really good ending to this entertaining series.
